Without Colin this whole thing would be irredeemable, and that includes Jim and Sam. The entire Cellar crowd were obsessed with Tough Crowd for a decade, and Bob Kelly tried to build a podcast with fat depressed Colin back in the day, but Colin was too much of a neurotic artist to stick with it. The whole point of Tough Crowd was too bring what happened at the Comedy Cellar table on TV, but it was far from a perfect show honestly. What Colin really needs is to have his own show/podcast on Sirius, with Bobby as second mic and show runner, a team of producers and interns like OnA, and daily guests from the Cellar.

I don't know how you could be a comedian now. I looked at the comments on the Golden Globes video, and people loved it. And- bonus- they found something to be offended by (something about Freddy Mercury). This is a terrible time. I just hope all this mindless group-thought doesn't lead to a war or some kind of bloody upheaval. They can have their directionless progress ("Growth for the sake of growth is the ideology of the cancer cell"), just leave me alone. This reminds me of a Bukowski poem: The Area of Pause you have to have it or the walls will close in. you have to give everything up, throw it away, everything away. you have to look at what you look at or think what you think or do what you do or don't do without considering personal advantage without accepting guidance. people are worn away with striving, they hide in common habits. their concerns are herd concerns. few have the ability to stare at an old shoe for ten minutes or to think of odd things like who invented the doorknob? they become unalive because they are unable to pause undo themselves unkink unsee unlearn roll clear. listen to their untrue laughter, then walk away.

God damn...when Colin reaches out to Anthony for his Andrew Dice (sometimes Gay) impression, and Ant wasn't there.... Really makes you yearn for a show that includes Anthony and Colin regularly, or at least semi-regularly like the early 00's. The 3rd, 4th, and sometimes 5th mics are really what made all those hours of broadcasts listenable. I disagree and found Jimmy's "it's never swinging back" analysis annoying. It's impossible for comedy to never swing back because it's always going to be funny despite it currently not being mainstream at the moment. Podcasts like Come Town are proof humor isn't dead but proof pop culture is rapidly changing technology wise. By the time "it" does swing back, television will have finally lost the fight as the dominant medium for entertainment which is why the swing is taking so long to emerge.
