The difference between Ray Allen's shot and Kerr's shot is that LeBron took the shot and missed. Ray Allen got the rebound off LeBron's miss and made the 3 to tie the game. Jordan did not miss. He drew the double team and threw a pass to a wide open Steve Kerr. If Ray missed, LeBron loses the championship. If Kerr missed, the Bulls would have gone into overtime in game 6. Its the same thing with Paxson in 1993. Jordan did not miss a shot to get bailed out by Paxson. And even if Paxson missed, the Bulls still had game 7. Ray Allen's shot is significantly more important to LeBron's legacy than Kerr/Paxson's shots.

Cris Carter says stop skipping over when Jordan walked away. So let's talk about it. In 1993, Jordan was in his absolute peak. He had just averaged 41 points, 8.5 rebounds and 6.3 assists in the Finals and won his third straight championship and Finals MVP. He had won 3 MVPs, Defensive Player of the year, 7 straight scoring titles, Rookie of the year, All Star MVP, 7 All NBA, 6 All Defense, 2 x Slam Dunk Champion. He had done it all. He was only 30 years old and still at his absolute athletic peak. Then his father got murdered and he chose to play baseball because it was his father's dream for him. It is the lowest possible argument for anyone to use that decision to try to honor his father's wish against Jordan. What about when he walked away in 1998? He had just won another 3 championships and 3 Finals MVPs, 2 more MVPs, 3 more scoring titles, 2 more All Star MVPs, 3 more All NBA, 3 and three more All Defensive teams. But the Bulls wanted to rebuild and Jordan wanted more championships. Jordan was a free agent and could have easily signed with the Lakers to play with Shaq and Kobe, Spurs to play with Duncan and Robinson, Utah and played with Stockton and Malone, Houston to play with Hakeem, Barkley and Pippen. Jordan could have gone to any of those teams and won 2-5 more championships depending on how long he played for. But unlike LeBron going to Miami, Jordan would have never even thought about joining two other superstars to chase more championships, because for Jordan the challenge and the competition was why he played.
@bsar116 жыл бұрын
jxn23 . Your skipping some things too. Let's talk about it. When he came back the first time, he got beat by Shaq and Magic. Don't want to hear about how he was away from the game, the man scored 55 at the garden and didn't even use the excuse himself. In addition, he got a year and a half to rest his body from the toll he was taking, which was big because he was the greatest and played hard. And don't say he didn't rest he played baseball please. Let's fast forward, did we forget his time in Washington? Yes that counts. He played didn't he? Whether u like it or not it counts, yes he was not the same but he didn't even have the miles LeBron has today. And again he had years off to rest again. In addition, I don't think his father was murdered randomnly. Jordan was a notorious gambler and sources have claimed he didn't pay a debt. Again I'm not 100% but it would make sense.

Or the last OLD 3, in which they were not in the prime of their career??? Or the one in the 80’s which got their picks pretty much by drafts!!!??? Only person they traded for was Robert Parish, NOWHERE near a league MVP. And as far as KG, Ray Ray, and the Truth, look up the ages of when they decided to get together!!! DEFINITELY not in there prime!!! Know YOUR facts!!!
@yoshikay87876 жыл бұрын
Mike S Lol, Brotha I actually enjoy ur points, that’s why I am responding.I hear you that players should have that freedom to join the teams they want. I hear you that you should position yourself with the right players for the best situation to win a championship. Where this gets sticky is to tip the scale too much in your favor. There are players that chase rings, then there are some that monopolize rings. (Right now I can’t place Lebron there, KD is there). And for competitive purposes, as a fan of basketball, it’s weak as a player.

Michael is the GOAT and Kobe is Goat Jr. hands down! They both are more clutch and they both have that killer instinct to take over a game to make sure they win. They are both too competitive to give up. They also and this is the most important aspect that everybody skips and that is both Michael and Kobe brought championships to the their respective teams. They didn't leave and they made people around them better! Lebron is a better all around player but he chases championships. He don't bring them to him. He changes teams to get success so how can you make the people around you better when you run off to another team. Also how do you make people better when you are constantly asking for your chosen lineup! Until Lebron can stay put with one team with a solid core then he will never be in MY GOAT conversation!!!! #TooLateNow

While I agree Michael is the best I've seen, it's an opinion--not hands down. You can't prove anyone who doesn't agree with you wrong. There's maybe 6-10 players we can generally agree are in the conversation. Anyone can cherry pick stats to support who they think is the best from there. But it really just comes down to who you like the best. Personally I'd put Kareem, LBJ and maybe a few others ahead of Kobe.
@TheGerm04206 жыл бұрын
lol back here in reality LeBron has more game winning playoff shots than Jordan and Kobe COMBINED. You people spread fake news constantly
@shamancolin6 жыл бұрын
While your stat is accurate, your reality is a cherry picked one. Wilt Chamberlain has more 30 pt / 30 rebound games than the rest of every single NBA player ever combined. Think about that. He also has by far the most 50 point games. Does that make him the best? There are so many things that go into the best ever. Fake news doesn't apply when people reference actual stats. The issue is that people cherry pick stats to prove their opinion-as you do here. The media loves to perpetuate the GOAT debate because it's an unwinnable argument. They make money off it. There is no-nor will there ever be--100% consensus on the goat in the way we can all agree who won WWII--and so in a way there really isn't one. What there is instead is a Mount Olympus of great players in the conversation of GOAT. Michael, Lebron, and Kobe are all among them, as are Kareem, Russell and few others. People will debate these players ad nauseum.

So yea when Jordan was the captain he never led North Carolina to anything notable, not even a final four and the 84 team had Kenny Smith Sam Perkins Brad Daughtery all top ten picks with brad being the number one overall pick. What is the excuse and how does this compare to losing to the eventual championship team in the conference finals. And then beating them the next year and winning it all and going for a 3 peat and then leaving and then coming back, setting the team record for wins with 72 and then go for another 3 peat. How does lebron compare wth is wrong with yall. And thennn. Losing late instead of losing early argument. If you have a team that could win it, and then you get it done. Jordan when he to his first finals, won. And then won 2 more times for a 3 peat. Before that he lost in conferences finals a bunch of times to good teams. Jordan was 1st team all defense 9xs. He chased guards around all night while playing elite defense and still was the greatest scorer in a much more physical time. His game winning/tieing shooting with 24 secs in the 4th/ot is 50% and lebron's is 35%. His ft% blows lebron's out the frame. Jordan had an 11 game stretch where he had 10 tripledoubs. He could do it. It just wasn't asked of him to do it by phil jackson. When you have a 5 man team you don't ask one guy to play 1-5. The fact it's even highlighted as a plus is stupid to me. Jordan was asked to score, defend and be king of clutch. Lebron plays like a jack of all trades and is not a king of anything. It creates identity issues for his team and does not instill confidense in the independent roles of his teammates within the totality. The system is Lebron and that's not conducive to winning championships. I really like lebron and i'd like to see him take on a more specific role on a team again. The jack of all trades thing in basketball is silly though. It doesn't lead to championships and it doesn't even mean you can beat a guy one on one. Look at any tape with him and Kobe. There is no doubt Kobe gets the best of him when they're on eachother. Jordan and kobe would beat lebron 1v1 and they have more rings. So how does being a jack of all trades get you anything but a bloated stat sheet?

These people knows MJ is still the man. But their careers in their shows wont prosper by talking about a has been. The subject have to be current, thats why they are makingg a fool of themselves trying to convince everyone of their opinions. First off, MJ is the goat not because of stats or rings. Jabbar got the most points and russel got the most rings, but why jordan? His heart and impact in the game, not to mention his impact in the market worldwide. The man refuses to loose... while lebron has always been spectacular mostly in the first 46mins and vanishes righth after, contented to get saved by a true closer in the team.

Adrian Contreras jack of all trades are not better than especialists. Depends on your ‘better’ criteria. Just because the other guy can do more things dont necessarily make him better. Lebron is stats padding, his teammates know, his coach know, even these so called analysts knows. This guy cares about his stats more than winning now that hes alrdy got rings.

Nick, Colin, 2 of LeBron James' titles were thanks to literally the 2 most clutch shots in finals history made by Ray Allen and kyrie. so not only did LeBron join a super team TWICE to get only 3 rings, but two of them required Ray and kyrie to do what they did. it really takes a lot away from LeBron. he's a beast no doubt ! but his titles aren't all.that impressive. so the kobe and mj convo is ridiculous to me .

Sometimes I wonder why Kyrie left the Cavs, since he was playing with the best player in the world, playing with the guy who "makes" everyone better, even after winning a ring, even after saying for that kid, that he wouldn't leave. I can´t understand why he left. But in the other hand, you have Pippen, "The Sidekick", who played with the best player in the world, but never requested a trade, Pippen could easily be the leader for a team, could take his max contract, but no, he stayed with the Bulls until Jordan retires.
