@@papaguchethey didn’t run anything with Caleb they didn’t run with Justin a million times over 3 years. The difference was, A) Caleb was calm in the pocket, B) he read the field without panicking and C) most importantly, Caleb checked into some of those looks pre snap after seeing the defensive scheme and finding the weakness. And some were his 3rd read in the progression… Caleb did things in one preseason series that the Bears waited 3 years for Justin to do consistently- he just never did. Physically, there’s nothing Caleb can do that Justin can’t. But in terms of FEEL for the position Caleb is just a different player. It’s nothing against Justin, I wanted him to be the guy too, he just wasn’t coming along enough to warrant passing on Caleb and paying him a massive contract

Arm strength matters, but not as much as accuracy, anticipation &, mental processing. It will never matter more than those things. What good is a powerful arm if you can’t process fast enough to see windows before they exist and be able to throw the ball on time to hit those windows when and where they need to be hit, in order to help your receiver? Either by giving them a good pass in stride and on the move, with the right leverage to keep it away from the cover defender or, to protect them from a big hit by putting it somewhere that stops their momentum, keeps the ball away from the defender, and doesn’t lead them straight into the defender at full speed.

I find John Middlekauff's personality to be so grating I can't watch his content (this coming from someone that sometimes watches Cowherd of all people). I watch Jason Timpfs' stuff and I'm not nearly as into basketball as I am football. His style of presentation and demeanor is so infinitely better. Middlekauff comes across as a used car salesman trying to condescend you as a sales tactic. Wish Colin had a better football guy because it's by far my favorite sport. But hey there's still Brett Kollman and Utree, could be worse.

The Bills showed a lot of different looks for a rookie QB. Watch Kurt Warner break down Calebs play.
@Evilishu2 ай бұрын
And because they didn't take him seriously, they were posterized. Is that Williams's fault? He did what he had to do to beat the coverage. If you think any of the other 5 QBs were forced to make the decisions Williams made, you didn't watch the game. You say there was no game plan, listen to some of the professionals who saw the post-snap looks that he adjusted to. Okay, maybe not exotic coverages like in the regular season, but clearly not "Okay, I got 2, you got 15, LB take 13, you take 85, and you take the RB...that would have been sandlot football. It wasn't that simple or is cover 2, 4 with pressure...etc, etc just sandlot. No one is saying he's ready for the hall, but show me one of the other rookies to make that 26-yard throw on the run to the TE. Just one. Every other QB faced the number 2's or lower. Have a nice day with your non-HOF take.
