At approximately minute 20 you are talking about the joy of just organizing your supplies & I find I feel happy to look at my tools too. Just like as a little girl when you get your new school supplies and the smell of crayons,paper and wanting to use them soon. This was my 1st video I have watched of yours. I am truly at ease and inspired by your gentle nature and encouragement. I needed this so much. So many ideas to try, thanks so much!

I use a glue runner ... I swear by them the only time I use stick glue is when I'm putting down something small ... Glue Runners are great they are permanent and mess free. No washing your hands after

They are such a joy to work with. My favourite thing about them is no bubbling or warping!! One challenge is that once you put something down... it's down! Though they do have ones with repositioning glue. I haven't tried that yet, have you?

I'm new to the world of collage and new to your channel. First of all, I thank you for sharing your experiences. Second, you're giving me the courage to introducing cutting, gluing, painting, and drawing into my many journals. I have more than enough supplies. . . now to use them for expressing my self. However, I need to stop my inner critic. With your gentle musings, I am beginning. Again thank you.

Suze, nothing makes me happier than hearing that you've found your courage! Here's to your beginning. I know you can do it! (And as for that inner critic, just treat him/her like a dog barking outside. Annoying yes, but not enough to stop you!)

Thanks a lot for this. Quick question, should one be using the matte adhesive in conjunction with the glue stick on a project, or is it just that either of the 2 is a sufficient tool?
@nuvoclassic Жыл бұрын
I would use both - glue stick first on bottom, matte medium on top to seal. But you should always experiment to find what YOU like the best!
@theschoolofcreativemagic Жыл бұрын
I'd be curious what inspired the question. What kind of result are you going for? If you don't know yet, that's totally cool. I agree with @nuvoclassic that the key is to experiment. Some people LOVE working exclusively with a matte medium. Others never touch it. I've sometimes done glue stick to test if I want to put something in a certain place and then gone in with matte medium once I've decided. I hope that helps!

such great info! I am fairly new to collage and am loving the process. What I wonder, when artists are producing pieces that they intend to sell, how do you get around the copyright issue of images having been taken by someone else?
@theschoolofcreativemagic7 жыл бұрын
This is absolutely a concern. If you are going to sell your work, you must use images that are copyright free (which is why you see so many vintage-y artworks) or what you use must be so changed that it is not recognizable as the original piece. I hope that helps.

To fix the issue of a ruler getting cut into: use the transparent ruler to find your line, score it with a bone folder to mark the line and line up your metal ruler to where you want to cut without ruining your acrylic ruler.
