I forgot to mention the material that I used to make the part the feathers fit in. I don't know the technical name but it is thin foam padding that goes under hardwood flooring. I had some left over from a large roll. As you can see you don't need much. Hope that helps!!

I was able to go to craft store and find a small foam piece for $1.

@@dawsonguyy if the leather was stiff enough yet pliable it would likely work fine. If it is too flimsy it may not hold up the feathers well. If it is too thick it will work but may not fold up well. Good luck!

How thick is the padding you use? 1/16 or 1/8 maybe?

Close to 1/8 inch

Is it fine to just have the fan and no color on the front to imitate a head

We use the fan on a strutter decoy. But I guess it may work as stand alone fan but have no idea if it will work. Be safe!!

What material did u use for the base?

It is foam underlay that I had left over from installing hard wood flooring.

The only color I can find is white. Not sure how well that will work

Just paint it black, once the feathers are in not much of it shows anyway. Good luck!!

@@jimdavis8936 I bought some. It’s real easy to rip. And hot glue melted it. Need to find some more sturdy stuff
