My mom makes an apple cake that is absolutely magnificent! It is made with grated apples and it's baked in a loaf pan. It is very dense and heavy and so incredibly moist. It's really good with whipped cream, but it's wonderful just by itself. It has walnuts in it as well which is a nice addition to the apples. Everyone that tries it always asks for the recipe. She calls it "Raw Apple Cake". She makes it a lot during the holidays and gives it as gifts for neighbors and the mailman etc. I remember when I was a little girl, seeing my mama sitting at the kitchen table grating apples with an old fashioned grater. It sure is easier to make this treat using a food processor! 😉 We live in the Yakima Valley in Washington State and we are surrounded by orchards. We have every variety of apple that you could think of right in our own backyard. We are blessed! I enjoy your videos and have tried several of your recipes. Good old-fashioned home cooking! Is there anything better?

I made an Apple Walnut Cake for a church potluck this week and folks loved it! One lady told me she took home 4 pieces of it! It was really good (a Southern Living recipe which I substituted walnuts for pecans), and I used apple pie spice in the cake and in the glaze. I prefer that spice to cinnamon any time I cook apples.

Hey Tammy - it all looks so darn good! My favorite apple dessert is apple crisp: 6 golden delicious apples peeled & sliced. Whisk 1/3 c white sugar, 1/3 c cornstarch, 1 tblsp cinnamon then coat apples. Place in small casserole dish. Dot top with 2 tblsp butter. 1/2 c each flour, brown sugar, original oats (not quick), butter, chopped pecans, 1-2 tsps cinnamon. Mix & crumble over the apples. Bake 375F 40-45 min, then lower heat to 350 and bake addl 20 min. If top does not look crisp, put under broiler for a few minutes. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream. The kitchen smells Gorgeous when it is in the oven!!! ♥️

Those all look amazing! I'm most excited to try the little pies with the marmalade. I bet that combo is delicious. My Granny used to make hand pies with pie crust. She made all kinds- apple, peach, apricot, etc., but I don't ever remember her mixing flavors like that. Can't wait to try it. Yum!

I just spent the last week canning several batches of apple pie filling, different size jars, use 3 different apples (I also picked the apples). Grab one off the shelf and I can create any one of your delicious looking desserts, or one of my own in a flash, apple turnovers a favorite, it makes it so easy. That cobbler looks like a winner, might try that with a puff pastry on top.

I always enjoy your videos Tammy. I would try one of these recipes if I just hadn’t made an apple pie a few days ago. But, I did use a little extra lemon juice, dark brown sugar, cinnamon and some corn starch to mix with my Granny Smith apples for the filling. It turned out delicious with that hint of lemon. The only thing I forgot to do was dot the pie with some butter before putting on the top crust. Oh well, we still enjoyed it! 😉 And you’re right, there’s nothing like a good, old-fashioned apple dessert in the fall! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
