Dan yube is the correct pronunciation. A River (the Danube) runs thru Germany , Austria and several other countries. The Blue Danube is also a wonderful song written by Strauss and generally danced to in a waltz,😁

'Danube = DAN - Yube. Like the river. There is also a famous classical song called 'Blue Danube' by Johann Strauss.

"Watteau" is pronounced "Watt-OH". Watteau was a French artist of the 18th century. His paintings portrayed idealized and romanticized rural life. Look up some of his paintings, they're pretty nice.

I appreciate you sharing your knowledge. You’re a breath of fresh air in comparison to other resellers who rely on popularity, personality, and youth and seek the same items over and over. They can’t read a marking and just shrug it off. Thanks!

I have 2 la belle plates. You are right, I have always loved them most. I was also given blue onion plates by Adam's from th 1800's by my parents. The China is almost translucent it is so fine. That adds to their beauty. Colleen

That stuff is pretty pricey when I see it in the antique shops I've visited over the years. And the dealer who has it for sale, usually puts it on display on the wall...lovely artistry!---See ya at the end of the month, when I get back from North Dakota.

I was looking at a channel that has mostly jewelry. Suddenly there's a few pieces of this type of China. It had a footnote that one piece is not an exact match. There was a lid missing there were chips cracks and everything but bullet holes and it was close to $10,000 for just a few pieces? There was only one plate and it was severely broken. I love this stuff but I don't like it that much. I remember my mother saying that it would come in the boxes of oatmeal like many other dish patterns did or maybe it was grits or cornmeal. I just know a lot of the dishes in our little cabin in the family came out of food.

so funny thing, my last little purchase was the "delft" repro. of the classic wall coffee grinder..(real ones just a little bit out of range)..even tho' not flow blue, my thought is its possible that its where orignal inspiration came from..

I found some flow blue at a yard sale. It’s more of a pattern, no flowers just a design. I like them but I will not collect them cause I collect another USA pattern.

Adding to the pronunciation list, "non-pariel" is def one of the weirder French spellings, from an Eng. language POV 😅 In French, is "𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗻-𝗣𝗮𝗵-𝗿𝗮𝘆" ("known," like s/thing is known or unknown). kzbin.info/www/bejne/pqu1hWqnmbhla9E Means unmatched, or unequaled. Or - an easier memory device: unparalleled... 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘰𝘯 𝘱𝘢𝘳 😉
