I've always thought the iPod was one of the first big tech gadgets that started the modern era. It replaced individual CDs and Cassettes in one swoop. When I got my first iPod, I stopped bringing CDs with me in the car completely, as I could just plug in the iPod and have all of my music. Once the iPhone and iPod Touch came out, it was all over. Nice collection! I have my 3rd gen (the one with the buttons, 2nd gen actually looks like the 1st but has a touch wheel), a 5th gen iPod video, a 160GB 6.5 gen, a 1st gen touch, a 5th gen nano, and some other ones around. iPods are cool!

For the longest time I used to use (still have it) a “Classic” with a decent sized drive. Could put my entire collection on that thing. Was great even as I started getting iPhones since their storage wasn’t even close to the iPod. Now I mostly use my collection synced with the cheap Match service since I’ve never found a decent replacement for Apple’s smart playlists. For example, did you know Plex doesn’t use all the metadata available???? If you have a collection from 2000, of 80s/90s music from an artist and have everything tagged “correctly” (each song with its original release date), Plex only looks at the album and a smart playlist of, let’s say, 80s stuff, won’t work. /end rant

i have a 4th generation Ipod Nano in the silver casing, sadly my battery died years ago and at that point i went back to listening to CDs and records. I now listen mp3s and stream music on my phone. i almost bought a new nano four years ago but decided not to. Great video dude!

Ipods are one of the best finds if you can find them. Getting harder and harder. I love using them even now.

My first iPod was the red 4th Gen Nano and I had my name engraved on it when I bought it. I remember saving up all my money for a year cause I was jealous of all the other kids iPods and wanted my own. Super nostalgic thinking about laying in bed listening to music and playing the few games I had on it. It survived one round through the washing machine, but not the second. After that I upgraded to a blue 6th Gen Nano, which also didn't appreciate when I went swimming with it in my shorts pocket. I still have the 5th Gen Touch that replaced that, but it gets less use than my phone for music these days. Now I want to replace my original Nano and try to get some games working on it, Thanks MJR lol
