Facilitated by the same company that cornered the FPJ market back when they were also authorised dealers of said brand. A distinct mix of time-share sales tactics with greater fool theory at work here, or am I wrong?

Phenomenal video from Osama and George. Two well-spoken and knowledgeable aficionados of the brand of the greatest living watchmaker, Francois Paul Journe. Thank you for your thoughts and advice on the most important brand of the our century!
@tsj8762Ай бұрын
In 2016 no one gave a sh*# about FPJ. I bought two of them and they have tripled in value. Do I care? NO! The only reason why anyone cares is because they have gone up in value and cost a fortune. Buy a LUC XPS 1860 pre owned. Or buy whatever you love and forget the hype….Laurent Ferrier is another one. No one cares today but if all of a sudden they double in value the entire world will want one. People want hype and status not watch making.

Strategy; be a millionaire, or have a time machine.
@wgnhsrАй бұрын
Both - beeing just a regular simple millionaire doesn’t bring you far. You need a house, a car, food, pension fund, some other watches perhaps - nothing left for a Journe.
@tusing77802 күн бұрын
@@wgnhsr You can definitely afford a Journe as a regular millionaire (1-2M). It might be a stretch at 5% of your net worth, which is a lot for a watch, but there are plenty of regular millionaires that spend that much on a Porsche or whatever. It's also hugely dependent on age - 2M at 30? You can afford a Journe. 2M at 65? Eh, not a good idea.

No one will care again in a few years. The old man is a total creep and the stories will tarnish the brand.

I think everybody great watchmaker is inspired by Breguet ... Unfortunately 98% of the collectors don't get this today. When looking at Breguet from the last 2- 3 decades there are serieus gems to be found, but somehow a lot of us still thy to get way to expensive steel hyped sports watches. Daniels, Smith, Journe look for a reason at Breguet. And I know the Breguet of today is not the Breguet of 1800 but believe me ... Breguet from 2-3 decades ago is BY FAR the best value in the market today.

That little guy in the green in the crowd got screwed lol. Looked like he’s literally wedged in between those 2 dudes. Also, what a world. You spend or are willing to spend thousands of dollars on something and they are going to tell you what you can and can’t do? Also penalize you if you make a certain decision. I really like Journe watches but after watching this I can see it’s just another Swiss money train in a different wrapper. Oh well.

The idea of needing to suck up to a watchmaker and "prove" yourself to them to be deemed worthy of buying one of their watches, is so offputting - hard pass for anyone with self-respect.

Bro dont compare Patek split chrono with history, and prestige with Journe, also the silly watch is like 44mm in diameter. Any watch that the 1916 company has more of is apparently the best watch ever, folks dont fall for this trick. The reason Journe bleu is popular is because it's actually a beautiful watch tastefully made, everything else seems to be hype for watch companies and watch influencers like Osama to make $$$ of. Also the 1916 company has tons of journe´s in their vault, I was unlucky to see them all, after debethune.. De Bethune is a DOG. OSAMA sounds like a used car salesman.

It's scientifically impossible for me to determine which brand I like more - FP Journe, Patek and Lange.
@adudeontheweb0Ай бұрын
My favourite brands are Journe and Lange, have a rise gold Lange 1 and should be getting a Journe next year form the boutique. I recently got a credor Eichi 2 which is amazing. I think Lange provides phenomenal value and awesome architecture. I think journe is quite the opposite of this with how high the horology is but doesn't take itself too seriously. Patek has never interested me too much, there are so many patek watches and owners, the main part is you can get so much more watch from another house that I can't really stomach it.

FP doesn’t make watches, he makes works of art. My concern is these watches are mechanical, so how or where are these watches repaired? How easy it to get replacement parts?

How and where do they get repaired? At the manufacturer’s service facility like every other brand in the world.
