Mega MindyLou Thank you Mindy Lou, hugs back to you :). I love these little critters. I try not to kill them, but sometimes the odd one gets accidentally killed:(

No probs Jeff. Maybe we can share a cuppa of Sugarbag honey tea... I don't take milk in tea so it will be perfect for me.

Fantastic Dave, I'll keep some just for that. It keeps well in the fridge, I had a small amount a bloke gave me when I first got the hive & the tiny bit I had left was still the same 9 months later. It didn't crystallize at all.
@honeybacres10 жыл бұрын
It is great that you got some honey from them, I am a little jealous though :)

The Productive Garden Thank you John, I reckon they'd (the Carbonaria) be ok down your way. The Hockingsi I have barely got out all winter, they survived alright with the box well insulated & obviously they had enough stores to see them through.

It would be great to get some. Maybe I will come across a wild hive down here that needs rehoming somtime. I have seen native bees in my garden so I know they are nearby somewhere.

The Productive Garden Hey, that's a good sign. Actually I have a tip, well it could be a tip. I wonder how you'd go phoning all the tree loppers in your area to let you know if they come across any. A bloke I know removed a honeybee hive from a large tree which also had a couple of native hives in it. The tree lopper told him that he often comes across native bee hives, just a thought.
@honeybacres10 жыл бұрын
That is a good idea Jeff. I will do that.

I wonder if these bees respond to BeeQuick or other honey bee repellents that we use to run bees out of honey supers.
@mugsyjeff10 жыл бұрын
628DirtRooster Thank you, I don't know, I don't use any of those repellents.

Could you do a video on processing the native bee propolise?
@pauzimkassim80607 жыл бұрын
Hi Jeff..I just heard you were saying.. if I split the hive without a queen or queen egg cell...the bees will make a new Queen anyway or another? Is this true?

Do you ever sell the wax? I'm looking for an authentic mouthpiece for my didgeridoo.
@leo90au8 жыл бұрын
If you haven't found anyone yet. Sugarbag.net sells native wax

Hey Jeff, Just wondering where you can purchase native stingless bees?
@mugsyjeff10 жыл бұрын
George Diamond Hi George, I don't really know, well I do but they charge outrageous prices for them. Best way is to try & locate a wild hive from say a tree lopper or someone like that. Or maybe find one in the bush yourself.
