Selling smart is a subject I will touch on. While I rarely sell anything I know enough about exactly what you are talking about and it is a really great way to go about collecting if thats your style.

I own and collect for PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4, NES, SNES, N64,Gamecube, Wii, Wii U, Master System, Genesis, Sega CD, Saturn, Dreamcast, Atari Jaguar, Atari 2600, 3DO, Neo Geo AES and CD, Amiga CD32, all xboxes, Game Boys, 3DS, Neo Geo Pocket, Game Gear, PSP, Vita. I have about 2500 games and always go for the best and most well known titles in the consoles librarys, then I go for for the unique games like for example FMV games like Night Trap. I also get all the good and decent rpgs for my consoles. Last I get some classic bad games like ET and Shaq Fu.

I just started my 3DS collection. It's going well! I walked into a pawn shop and walked out with a complete Kid Icarus, stand included for $40 :D Sealed. Also, I tracked down a sealed copy of Rhythm Thief, sealed, for $30 :D it's been a good start!

Good video. I think that anyone who is seriously thinking about collecting should definately take a look at it. Your make some really good examples and your reasoning is spot on.

The price of factory sealed games is all depending on what people are willing to pay for them. Sealed games is a whole other topic and really best bet is to set your price high and accept offers if you are not sure.

honestly though, what else is there after that? play n' trade yes, goodwill and salvation army yes, but after that its all based upon where you live.

play it all you want. Only thing you gotta be careful with in terms of games in cardboard boxes is the flaps to open the box tend to crease if you are not careful

Thats a good alternative, there are collectors out there who collect game compilations like that.

thats the difference right there, collecting for cool looking boxes or collecting for no other reason than the systems name. I think collecting for displaying cool looking boxes is a better reason. There that wasnt so hard now was it? :)

outstanding video. I go for nostalgia 100%...... nothing removes the pressures of day to day like going into the game room and playing on the mame cabinet or the NES, etc. Nostalgia to the point that I'm planning on a room in my next house that is 1) faux wood panelled 2) orange/brown shag carpet, 3) old zenith console tv with internal screen upgrade. Basically recreating a 70's living room with all the nostalgia contained within. Cool stuff :)

Nostalgia's my main and first reason for collecting, and i'm aiming for SNES games because that was my first major system that i played a lot on.i had already done some research on the matter on ebay but i did pick up some neat info from this video.thanks

I actually recently started collecting not by console, but by game series. My favorite series is Zelda, so I am starting there. Once I get it mostly done, I will start with pokemon because of how nostalgic it is for me. From there I can see where I want to go. I think the best advice is collect what you love, even if the games don't have any relation to each other. Then once you are happy with what you have, see what else you want, if you want a challenge to collect, want to collect to play, or whatever reason do it only if you find it enjoyable. I've had a blast so far, and I've learned a lot of gaming history as I've done research too!

Yes because you get to hand pick waht games you want. HOWEVER, buying games individualy tend to be a long and expensive process if you are buying online when you take into consideration all the shipping and buying fees for each individual game.

I collect all things Sega but with a main focus on Saturn, and nostalgia is my reason to do it. It's all to easy to be distracted by the lure of other great/interesting/obscure game stuff though and over extend yourself. Stay focused! PS1/SNES/TG-16/Jag/3DO/Neo-Geo have been singing me siren songs through the years:)

Definately agree with what you have to say about about which consoles you should get according to taste. NES is definately fun to collect as there are a great deal of great games that are pretty cheap and they all just have a great feel to them. I personally love just gettting any NES games I can. I also like getting Boxed Megadrive games. PSX is my biggest collection. My love for video games started at a similair time to buying it. so I know a lot about the games. Anyway, Great video!

Thanks for making these videos. I recently decided I want to collect loose Game Boy games because that was the system I remember most as an influence of me gaming. Heck, I still have the original Game Boy my parents got me when I was 2 (and it still works). And, yeah, I know, not collecting boxes is a faux pas to many, but I prefer the look and feel of the little gray cartridges to the cardboard boxes anyway--although I do love the manuals Nintendo used to put out.

I actualy think the Genesis is a good starting system if you dont want to go for a complete collection. Otherwise its large library is great because of the large selection of games and most of them being really cheap and common.

Excellent Video series. I wanna get into collecting some systems, but I dont want to be a collector that just sits on these games for years, I want to be the type of collector that rotates my stock, try all kinds of things out, buy low and sell high, make a little side business out of being a collector. I've already made my start on Ebay, bought Super Mario Bros for GBA for 5$ and sold it for about 20$ cart only on EBAY. Plus I have limited space, so this type of collecting is right for me.

Complete N64 games are not that cheap no...but there are only a couple of titles you will have moderate difficulty finding complete. That is hard to say for other systems with a pretty large library.

@PrrrromotionGiven Me too. I just got one off of ebay a couple of weeks ago and am just waiting for it to ship. My sister had one back in the day and I loved the few games that I played for it. Yes you can, just make sure to burn it in multi-track/session mode. I keep backups of all my cd-based games, and the Sega CD didn't have any copy protection whatsoever, so they all work. The Sega Saturn needs hardware modification to run burned discs though.

I'm starting to collect games for the N64. So far i have Banjo-Kazooie/Tooie, D.K.64, Mario Party 2/3, Super Mario 64, Pokemon Snap, Legend Of Zelda MM/OOT, Diddy Kong Racing and Glover (Which is the only one i have in the box.) N64 is definately my favourite system of all time, and it always will be.

Great Vlog. I won't collect my nintendo systems at all, but i want to get those great games for some of my old consoles, which i really loved (n64, gc). The problem with gameboxes from the older nintendo consoles (gb, gc, n64, snes) is the material. The cardboard boxes can get easily damaged. But the cardridges are really hard-wearing.

Great advice Pete.... I collect for various systems (3DO) is my personal favourite because of those big ass long boxes . Most of my 3DO games are complete. How ever, I usually go for games that are complete, but I ain`t that pickie. Most times I just grab the cart`s because even they look really cool & neat. Even though I have a mixture of both carts and complete`s, it`s cool having both. Thanks dude.

Hi there, Nice watch. I would say the SNES & N64 titles are more expensive to collect rather than Gameboy but i live in the UK so probably completely different here than it is there. Left 4 Dead is still £40 ($60) here even though it's been released for 5 months. I would perfer the slow route and collect them individually as it feels like you built the collection yourself and feels your own rather than buying someone elses.
