If you're interested, the Collection Log Luck plugin would do some of those calculations for you, so you know when you're on rate etc. Can be useful for tricky items like DT2 rings.

I don't know if it's relevant for you since there are other fast ways of getting hard clues, but if you wanted to mix things up maybe try thieving from the new rogues castle chest with a ring of wealth (i). Hard clues are a 1/45 with it on and you can open the chest ~10 times per minute making it a pretty fast way to get hard clues - and it's profitable too.

So basically you do masters until you get a really easy to do triple step, then you never finish that clue. Anytime you open clues/turn in clues for a master you drop the good triple step clue, then when you get a triple step on the master you're actually doing, you drop it and pick up the one with the easy triple steps. Gather the 3 pieces from the triple step, drop the old clue, pickup the new one you're doing and combine the papers, this will complete the new clues triple step while keeping the old ones easy steps intact. Hope this makes sense haha
