The sad mentality behind "HD Remakes" and such is the idea that quality comes exclusively from how modern the technology behind it is. It's the driving principle behind the pop-culture mindset. Things aren't good because they're good; they're good because they're new.

@Big_Dai3 ай бұрын
OP's comment doesn't really make sense (not just grammatically).. Things are good not because they are new, or technologically modern. They are good because they are innovative, well made, well written and fun. But the contrast between the original and a remake will always denote a distinction between what was brought and how it has been improved and modernized. Some will prefer original elements, while others like some of the new that didn't exist before.. you can't please everyone and not everyone likes the same thing. Just by existing, it will be someone's favorite. That's how the world works.

my biggest issue with that game is the complete lack of options to mark the map, which is a huge deal considering how many islands you can't access until you get the right item. with how huge the map is, there's no way you can be expected to remember all the islands you've visited but couldn't do anything with yet, it makes 100% completion, something that i really like to do in zelda games especially, very obnoxious and unenjoyable without using a guide (which ruins the experience for me), holding off on exploration until you have all items (shouldn't need to explain why that's bad), or just writing down notes on the islands outside the game, which is the best solution i can think of but still shouldn't be required in the first place beyond that, my other issue is the lack of dungeons, as well as the dungeons themselves. not counting the forsaken fortress because it's just an extended stealth section, there are only 5 real dungeons in the game. out of those, i can only say i genuinely enjoyed 2 of them, the tower of the gods and the wind temple. the earth temple was generally uninteresting, dragon roost was fun solely because of the location and visuals, and i really don't like the forbidden woods.

"The fighting in trials feels slower than in secret" ARE YOU F*CKING KIDDING ME? Secret of mana killed my patience because the combat felt absolutely awful with how you had to wait for enemies to finish their stunlock animation every single time after every hit. It was really annoying how you had to wait for your attack bar to fill up (because otherwise you won't deal damage), hope it connects against the enemy and then wait for the enemy to finish being stunned and stand back up to be able to continue the fight. It was excruciating and no other game in the mana series is as clunky and annoying to play, and I played absolutely all of them. Its impressive how even the Gameboy adventure handles combat better and I'm confused to hell as to how can you defend it over Seiken densetsu 3's combat

I rather prefer the original final fantasy adventure to secret of mana. I don't know the constant spell grinding, giant boss sprites with weird hit boxes and in general flimsy combat just killed it for me. I think the multiplayer of secret of mana is the best part about it, although the single player experience kind of took a hit because of it. The big bosses that just akwardly walk and spam unavoidable spells are a better fit for multiplayer but i prefered a more traditional boss with a pattern to learn and attacks to avoid. The original feels (for lack of a better word) more designed. Also i'm kind of pissed off that the remake sword of mana for GBA, was not in the collection, which adds more story elements and options, like being able to play as a female character. I mean they were so close to including everything, I'm increasingly frustrated with these legacy collections that randomly avoid one of their games.

Bro nerrel I love you so much ❤ The first minutes of the video always kill me and your humour in general 😂 I think I'm watching the video the third time now but I still enjoy every second of it! Same with every other video of you. Please continue this quality output I'll always watch it

Why on Earth they got the guy who did "Marisa stole the precious thing" and "Cirno's perfect math class" to arrange Secret of Mana is beyond me. It sounds like a bad joke.

They got a lot of very popular composers and arrangers to do music for the game in general.

This is a fantastic review, series retrospective, and remake comparison. I hope you will create more content along these lines in the future because you're really good at it.

It may be a bit of a stretch and probably a little bit more expensive but you can buy a physical remake copy of Seiken Densetsu 3 as Secret of Mana 2 that comes with a manual meant to replicate the original jp version. Something to think about if you're wanting to try SD3

I feel like this is really something only collectors would buy for the novelty🤔

@@tedpilledtonysoprano5512 Lol... Yeah, I ended up buying it not too long ago and am having a great time with it. It was inevitable at the end of the day.

They might've had a low budget, but that really does not justify them bringing "Joe from accounting" to do the voices for the npcs.

You should really do more reviews and stuff. Always A+.
