@shinzero0271 Жыл бұрын
Depends on what scares you. The early game atmosphere can be scary for some but after the opening Village fight, you mostly fight them in small groups outside of scripted events. Once the bad weather hits, the village area gets a bit spooky again as visibility drops. I personally didn't find the Castle area scary as the robed cultists kinda felt like I was just shooting Voldemort in the face a lot but that is also where you'll probably need knives or flashbangs handy to avoid instakill attacks. The first Garrador can be scary, and the Novistadors can jumpscare you because they blend in really, really well with the surrounding area. On the island, the Regeneradors, particularly the first two as you don't have the bio scope, are scary in how their behavior, movement style, and movement speed can change rapidly. One minute they're slow and lumbering, then suddenly they speed up and close the distance in order to rip a chunk out of Leon's neck. Even worse is how they sorta slither when knocked down and can stretch their arms pretty far to pull Leon towards them. The first Iron Maiden Regenerador will probably throw you for a loop too.

Honestly, I don't know Spanish but I just noticed the audio cues since I play with headphones on. The remakes have had some great audio design when it comes to the atmosphere and being able to tell where enemies are. Also, there's a lot of people who play without adjusting the camera for better situational awareness. Even in this video, it seems like the person playing is only focused on whats in front of Leon despite being in the middle of a chaotic assault from all sides.

Really enjoy hearing your thoughts and I usually find myself nodding along with the points you make, but the criticisms on the combat really stuck out to me because I had such a different experience. Getting used to parrying and ducking grabs made swarms manageable, and I’ve been having fun getting full 150 combo runs on each of the characters for Mercenaries mode the past couple days. The main thing is to not play it like the original and take advantage of all the new tools. And playing with better controls (like mouse and keyboard) already made the game feel too easy at times, so I gotta disagree with the suggestion to have enemies get stunned the same way they did in the original. I also kind of disagree with your opinions on the characters being downgraded unless you’re strictly talking about the voice acting which is more understandable. Felt like I agreed with the rest though, especially on the desire for more new games.

@Genasidal Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I agree w the sentiment on the voice acting for sure. I think the voice acting didn't reach the heights of the original, but I'm fine with the majority of the new cast. But many characters have been improved vastly in my eyes. I don't mind the changes to Leon either - both versions of him are great to me, original or remake! Same goes with Krauser. His original voice actor did a phenomenal job, and it would have been hard to top that, honestly, but the new direction they went with, with his relationship with Leon being expanded to mentorship was super interesting. I do miss his "double-agent" agenda from the original, but I still think the new direction is interesting enough in how they played it. Ironically, I was also baffled by the controls talk too, bc I had an issue with the movement being LESS responsive than the original, and having that "modern game looseness" to it, where flashy animations need to play out for everything, resulting in unfair hits in things like trying to make sharp turns and getting punished for it. In a game with such a fast pace, having honestly clunky "GTA Style" movement can get really frustrating, REALLY fast. It worked better in the other 2 remakes to here. The same can be said for the bloom aiming on the guns. It was far more reactive on the other 2, and focused in quicker, so the overall nerf to focus speed on the reticle honing in makes absolutely 0 sense to me, from both a gameplay and lore perspective!

Nerrel cherry-picked a section from the game with little to no music to prove his point, even though the remake boasts a butt-ton of new and remixed tracks that add so much tension and energy to the combat sequences of the game. And I will not take any disrespect on the new remix of Mike's backup ost, that shit had me so hype during my playthrough. (water hall ost got downgraded though tbh)

@jakedill1304 Жыл бұрын
Actually found myself having to to like force myself to use red barrels for some reason..like I'm not sure what it was about this and it wasn't cuz they weren't there or that environmental things were not you know incredibly useful.. maybe a bit of it had to do with the is the game going to let me do this, because I've been stopped by a pile of shoes before.. and then you go through the thought process of well I mean.. if I'm going to use a red barrel I might as well get the most out of it because I lost all my fun time ammo accidentally thinking that one of the tentacle monsters was just one of the regular tentacle monsters and not a set piece specific technical monster.. so.. oh gosh darn it, really you couldn't go 5 ft through the door to try to get me.. I'm actually really not sure it's kind of surprising cuz I just come off of a Half-Life 2 modding stent.. and red barrels are kind of my favorite thing especially with the slippery kick mod where you can pick them up and kick them and then shoot them.. but then I guess with valves level design despite being very similar to this in terms of how it's a set piece pretend sandbox with a a puzzle component to the combat rather than actual system shock-esque player agency.. valve will never leave you hanging you will always have enough barrels if they want you to have them and you will always have enough to succeed should you obey them it's it's only when you get a little crafty and ungrateful that they bring out the heavy scripting like grenades that can't be caught with the gravity gun, or civilians that have like 12 redundant systems in order to make sure they get shot for the set piece.. but you're never actually in danger in half life.. whereas this is closer to the opposite it feels LOL and and I appreciate that kind of candor.. it works incredibly well for this kind of game design, and it's also been a very long time since I've had that so.. still I'm really confused why I have this like phobia of red barrels I'm just kind of spitballing it here.. like it wasn't a week ago that red barrels were my favorite thing.. and I thoroughly enjoy fun with Molly on what could have been a source ladder in a previous life but unlike Gordon Freeman, Leon's not a morphine addict and seems to have no trouble with them, go figure.. interestingly enough too I honestly never really got killed a lot by the red barrels only on certain occasions and a lot of things had to kind of Rube Goldberg their way there and I almost always knew it was going to happen when it did before it did.. whereas in Half-Life 2.. red barrels can just explode for like no reason LOL because, engaging physics systems that actually feel good and hold the stick are actually somewhat equal opportunity.. which is why we will never see them outside of very rare indie projects it seems.. hell I was just happy with the amount of physical interaction this game had which was surprisingly a lot by comparison to far too many games LOL.. although that also kind of starts highlighting that whole the only reason I can jump over that pile of shoes is because I've installed a mod that turns the Dodge from a quick time event to a Dodge.. and now I can dolphin dive over them.. LOL like that rhythm game Target lock on dark souls Dodge rolling everywhere kind of combat was always kind of ridiculous but somehow it's extraordinarily ridiculous in the situation despite more or less being the same thing.. maybe it's just cuz when he does it he actually seems like he actually just kind of crunch some cartilage or something.. I highly recommend that mod by the way.. just turn off the invincibility frames and you can still use your QuickTime Dodge for the QuickTime dodging that you're not going to get out of.. but especially when balance with the hardcore mode where those extended windows of like getting grabbed or set pieced is significantly shortened.. sometimes the old ways are the best ways it seems and it's nice to be able to make a functional mechanical movement and keep that part of your brain working while controlling the functional mechanical person thingy instead of stopping and, I guess this is like almost the modern equivalent to putting in another quarter? Or something like that.. I'll work on that analogy.

Honestly one of the main reasons I’m expecting 5 to get remade is that in Japan the remakes since 2 have been much more clearly branded as their own subseries (Biohazard RE: 2/3/4), so especially with the way they handled the setup for 5 in 4 remake I feel like it’s pretty likely they’ll ride the subseries out to the end of the original plotline (because let’s face it, the initial story pretty firmly ended with Wesker dying).

But they can't remake 5 without code Veronica. If they do they'll have to change a bunch of the plot to make it make sense for people who haven't played CV. @BoxoSpoons Жыл бұрын
@@Enzed_ My hunch is that if they remake 5 they'll cover the relevant information from CV as a flashback. Maybe something like having the intro/tutorial segment being Chris and Claire escaping the prison island, seeing Wesker there doing his thing, then cut to Chris after 10 years of cat-and-mouse. Obviously you need to show that first meeting for 5's story to land, but considering 4 remake seems designed to be the reveal that Wesker's back in the new version of the narrative I don't think they'll be going backwards. Also if I can throw in something less concrete, Craig Burnatowski leaked concept art of Wesker from 4 remake a while before release, and in that piece he had his arm burned from Alexia, but in the final game that detail isn't there anymore despite everything else still making it into the final design, so we know for a fact that somewhere along the line in 4R's development there was an active choice to omit references to Code Veronica.

Removing the guaranteed stun on headshots that OG RE4 had is not something I'm a fan of, since it makes combat way less consistent and fails to properly reward the player for making their shots count. While the invincible melee attacks did lead to some cheese and abuse in the original, it's still preferable than having enemies tank through 3-4 headshots while you're already outnumbered and potentially get ganked by someone from behind. Hardcore mode honestly feels like a trap for a first playthough despite the description saying it's for returning players, with how bullet spongey and stagger resistent enemies become on top of the decreased ammo drops. I've gotten stuck in places like the Luis cabin fight and Water Hall for over an hour due to the ridiculous enemy spam and the game simply refusing to provide the resources to deal with their beefiness. Some sections seem to be designed with stealth in mind, but then will have enemies facing your direction and refusing to move, forcing you to aggro everyone anyway to proceed. Protecting Ashley is also far more frustrating in the remake, and I'm not even sure how they managed to mess that up considering OG RE4 Ashley was of the best and earliest examples of how to do an escort character right, which many video games still struggle with. I know some of this can be attributed to skill issue and I'm sure I'll be able to eventually breeze through these parts as I get used to things, but i still think the pacing and game balance of the original was calculated better, while there are certain parts to the remake where it feels like you just don't catch a break.
@TheFawse Жыл бұрын
Headshots are consistent in this game, they take between 1-3 shots almost always. Inconsistent is when something acts like it’s not supposed to, like if headshots are supposed to always stagger but sometimes randomly don’t The game has consistent rules, they’re just different than the originals and you need to take them into account. Like don’t stand and fight unless you’re sure nobody’s behind you and you have room to get away, don’t get tunnel visioned and snuck up on, it’s not always safe to run in for a stagger melee, and expect to need a couple of headshots to stagger an enemy The increased mobility in this game makes it easier to move around during combat, if every headshot staggered then the game would be a joke
@GIR177 Жыл бұрын
@@TheFawse Leon has increased mobility in this game but he's not Batman. He still gets ganked in the recovery animations of certain actions, he can still get stun locked, he can still get body blocked by enemies getting up from the ground he should clearly be able to run through, and he can't 180° turn and immediately break into a run without pausing. You defended the headshots as being consistent, and then in the same breath begin to describe how they quite literally aren't. Enemies being far tougher to stagger and killer would be less a problem if the game also didn't restrict ammunition to levels of RE2 remake Hardcore, yet having so many encounters that force you to confront and defeat those enemies, which makes melee and knife followups more important than ever. If my success is heavily dependent on the "director" giving me ammo then I view that as unfair. Of course there are always things I could improve on as a player, but if my aim is great and I’m hitting my shots, going for stealth kills when possible and generally not overextending myself, then I shouldn’t be scrambling to find ammo and fail encounters like the Cabin, Waterhall, double Garradors, Salazar, and the final mad dash in the lab until the game decides to take pity on me. 2005 RE4 is so legendary because it eventually becomes a power fantasy with horror elements once you've gotten a handle of the combat even on Professional, and certain areas of the remake just ruin that satisfaction because of the limited resources and enemies that drain more of it. I'm happy other people are enjoying the remake tremendously though, I just wish I could say I was one of them.

Although it isn't needed, it's clear that a remake of 5 is already on the horizon, already being set up by this games co-op segment with Luis, and the boat section of chapter 4, which is almost like a remake of 5's chapter 3-1 in and of itself. Some of my favorite little moments of the game are when Leon and Ashley are just walking around and Ashley just comments on little things in the world. My favorite is when you’re in the castle and she says that Leon should use the armor as a bullet proof vest.

Yeah Luis and Ashley were a big upgrade, Krauser about the same but with some good new backstory, Ada quite a bit worse, and the others (Saddler, Salazar, Mendez) in the same ballpark. Overall I think that's positive because Luis and Ashley were much bigger characters in the story than the others.

Luis and Krauser were also much better in the remake. Luis got way more screen time and his buddy cop dynamic with Leon was fantastic. There were also files and photos delving into his backstory a lot more in the remake. The remake showed Leon and Krauser’s training in the intro, and the mention of Operation Javier and their training together added a lot of necessary context. They even commented on each other’s tactics and tendencies in battle. Krauser’s final moments in the remake were more emotional and made a lot more sense considering that he is Leon’s former comrade.

I find myself agreeing on the point about enemy stagger and grabs. I can get behind calling on the player to put more work into their melee chains and crowd control to up the ante and make things more tense, but handling it through pure RNG was a big mistake. I would've much preferred their stagger be almost entirely based on your gun's strength. Any more than 3 bullets to the head for a stagger, as a rule of thumb, should be a giant no-no. And I feel like the grabs should have had something much more reliable to circumvent like a guaranteed stagger when an enemy is going for one, because I agree too it gets very overbearing to the point where unarmed enemies literally become the biggest threat in the room.

But overall I had a lot of fun with it and easily go back to it. Won't replace the og for me either. Depends on my mood which one I play at the moment. In terms of the gyro, I had to raise the camera acceleration and maximum speed to get it to respond fast. But then i had to raise the reticle deceleration to 2 to stop it from overshooting and I managed to make it work now. It's the only way I can actually shoot now. Shooting with the stick feels so slow to me. But yeah, default settings with the gyro sucks ass.

Thing is I discovered the enemy problem was only a thing on hardcore. On standard, it was pretty much a cakewalk. I feel like difficulty balancing wasnt done correctly on higher difficulties. @desfefe only just saw this. But absolutely. It's been a small issue for these remakes for a while now. I do feel there's circumstances on standard in 4 that get annoying and frustrating when there's so many enemies. But yeah. It's an even bigger issue in harder difficulties. It's always been an issue in these. Hardcore in RE2make enemies are way too spongy. Same for RE4make. Surprisingly with RE3make I feel the game was actually balanced on Hardcore, cause standard felt way too damn easy. Now nightmare and inferno can go straight to hell. 😂

One of my biggest problems with this remake is an engine problem: If you fall for something (like the catapult section) and then try to get the drop on it, any cutscene that happens will mess you up. Couple examples: In the village ambush at the start, I had a grenade and threw it. The chainsaw guy's cutscene appeared and it took me back to the same area, same enemies, but my grenade was deleted. Or similarly, I tried to get the drop on the catapults since I knew it was coming, and despite blowing up one of them before they start firing, it respawned after the cutscene. I'm pretty sure it's removing/replacing actors from the cutscene and that's why it punishes you arbitrarily sometimes. Also agreed pretty heavily on the music/voice acting. I don't think the VAs do a bad job, but they were clearly directed to be more serious, and that removes the charm of the self-aware cheesy original. The music has that problem all these post-RE7 games do, where it's pretty bland overall.

The changes to staggering enemies would've been fine if they were consistent--Mercenaries feels a little too easy with the new mobility, even with them throwing dump trucks of enemies at you, so I get why they changed it from one-hit staggers for the main game. The problem is it takes an RNG amount of headshots to stagger. It would've been great if it had just been two to stagger and it usually is on standard. On higher difficulties it's more and feels more variable, Professional is often 4+ headshots and it just feels awful. Any difficulty above Standard feels increasingly frustrating and poorly balanced.

100% agree with the tone, and also the hit-stun issue. Made the shooting feel less satisfying overall and big crowds a bit frustrating to deal with. I found I needed to rescue her a lot more often in the remake. Fortunately my game didn't crash with RT on though. Otherwise a dope AF game but for me the OG with HD mod is the must better package. I actually like the fact that Leon still insists upon his cheesy lines. Also, in Professional, enemies very much have magnetic grabs and it sucks lol. Those, I’m not a huge fan of, but that’s a minor complaint compared to the insane amount of good. On hardcore at least, the village section is tedious and really annoying. Ashley almost always gets caught, and you dont have the arsenal to deal with most situations. Once you start the castle, the game becomes more manageable as you have sections which have less enemies, and you definitely have better tools to defend yourself. But it doesnt last forever. Sometimes you will need to use weapons you want to save ammo for (for example the magnum) just because the game will have set pieces that will strip you of all your ammunition. I understand it creates tense encounters, but the original at least allowed you to have freedom on weapons you want to use, whereas the remake makes you feel like you need to scrap by barely with whatever you have. That logic only works in B movies, which are about spectacle not character development.

I agree, I thought they did a good job when it was all said and done, but I do feel like Leon came off a lot more timid. People have often said things like it would be less realistic if he was just a joke slinging badass and all that but for the most part none of us held RE4 in such high regard for all these years because of how realistic the pyschology of the characters were, if anything the campy tone was a huge part of the charm.... I mean look at the story in the first place, the US presidents daughter is captured and taken hostage in a foreign country and they do what? Send 1 guy with a cool leather jacket and a pistol......by taxi to go save her? We weren't dealing with much realism at all to begin with. Something can be immersive and awesome without having to pass a logical reality check, that's my opinion at least. Glad to see that the game came out as such a polished product though, had a lot of fun playing it.

@Scatmanseth its been almost 20 years so it might be time for someone to tell you that RE4 (and most RE games before this recent reboot) are essentially B movies made into video games. The original concept behind Resident Evil, the series, was "take 80s American action/horror movies and combine them with flashy Japanese anime tropes" the result is a fantasy swat team with color coded body armor weilding personalized weapons in a MANSION filled with monsters. If that doesn't strike you as B movie, you might need to watch some B movies. This recent shift toward "realism" is a little boring. The writing is all very skin deep and basic, which it always kinda has been in RE games, just now it doesn't have the benifit of being absurd/flashy/funny as much as it used to. OG Leon is memorable because of how cheesily written he is. Almost every line he has in OG is memorable and I can probably recite almost everything he says from memory, even after years without touching the game. I just finished another run of RE4R recently and ngl I cant remember most of Leon's lines. He has some good ones but a LOT of the script is trying way too hard to pile on the melodrama. It has the same energy as a direct to streaming service mid-tier show you watch once, think its decent and move on. New Leon is aight, hes serviceable for the role, but OG is iconic for good reason.

4:44 I did a little experiment on this. So at difficultly selection, someone who has played the original RE4 is recommended to play Hardcore. In Hardcore, headshots and kneeshots don't always get an immediate reaction and a melee prompt, it can take more than one shot. However in the difficulty recommended for newcomers (Standard), all the critical shots get a reaction on the first hit. Just like how it was in the original RE4. Except in the original RE4 this goes for all difficulties. I only noticed and tried this after Mercenaries because, Mercenaries mode almost crucially relies on what I'll call "instant reactions to critical shots" to keep the pace and the combos going. This tweak is a little odd to me, as if the loss of "instant reactions to critical shots" was a change to subvert expectations of RE4 veterans.

7 and 8 were jumping off points for newcomers, as was 2R. If we need to remake half the entire mainline series (and likely more given how people are asking for remakes of 5 and 6) just to get it more attention from newcomers, then I'm casting serious doubt as to whether or not the endeavour is even worth it, especially since the point of 7 and 8 was to be basically soft reboots of the series that don't require much knowledge of prior games. These remakes are also being made in the era of larger budgets and longer dev times, so they're coming at the expense of actual new games in the series.

Honestly, the lack of precision while aiming and the innability to dodge since the enemies are likely to stunlock you kind of broke the game for me. This is not suitable for an action oriented game, as it was for RE2 and 3. It is frustrating and the worse of the remakes, for me.

The catapult room sucks because the lighting system makes it difficult to distinguish far-off objects like the exploding barrels from the background (which is probably why the item boxes are slathered with yellow paint). I actually came away with the opposite impression when playing this remake's Mercenaries mode, enemies probably shouldn't instantly go into their melee interact like that because it completely changes the player mindset. In the original and RE4R Mercs, because it's a guarantee that they'll be vulnerable after a head or leg shot, you are always encouraged to go in on packs of enemies to get the most value out of every bullet. When that's not a guarantee, it means having to be more careful and utilizing your whole toolkit to keep yourself from getting mobbed. Yeah it sucks to get chain-hit by enemies when you're trying to capitalize on these opportunities, but that's probably the game's way of saying "we gave you enough bullets and grenades to keep enemies spaced out from you, stop trying to hyper-conserve all your resources". Sometimes less control over your situations leads to more engaging gameplay. Only thing I really didn't like is the Salazar+Saddler design of having them move around all the damn time and shoot laser-beams at you. Those were just a pain in the ass.

Thank you Nerrel for speaking my mind on the ongoing remake fiasco. Everyone on Twitter are just so sure of themselves that RE5 and 6 REmakes are such a forgone conclusion and it's irritating that I feel like the only one who sees it as a giant waste of time when games like Code Veronica or maybe even Zero could really benefit from the facelift. Then from there Capcom need to move on because there needs to be a stopping point somewhere, or else we'll be remaking even the current REmakes in one or two console generations. Moral of the story: Move on and do Dino Crisis or Haunting Ground for the love of God Capcom!

I mean, Capcom have been doing these RE remakes in order (it's why they started with RE2, since RE1 already had a remake). They themselves are the ones who skipped over Code Veronica and Zero. Your right hand comes off? That catapult section really helped me realize just how bad Ashley’s commands/AI really is in this remake. I almost just called it quits and the villagers tend to be a little way too grabby and aggressive it makes you constantly have to make a B-line and relocate for a better vantage point which kinda just makes me feel like I’m playing a lesser version of the original. Overall it’s pretty solid but definitely not perfect I think the OG is still worth playing.

I don't have the nostalgia for RE4 as a young child but I did really love playing it a few years ago. To me, the RE4 Remake stands up very tall next to the original and I feel the pacing, combat and level design is mostly improved save for a few exceptions. The thing I did have an issue with is the story and writing changes for the most part. I agree that I like Luis better in the remake than the original but a lot of the voice acting got a major downgrade, except for Leon. While Leon doesn't stand up as strongly as the original, the voice actor for Leon did a really great job and I think he deserves credit for trying to find a good balance between RE2 Remake Leon and RE4's "Cool Guy" Leon.

You hit the nail on the head with most of my complaints with this game, thank you. I still think Leon controls much worse in the remake due to inertia/momentum. Playing the OG again after the remake really felt like taking the weights off due to how responsive Leon feels despite being more limited in what movements you can perform. Same goes for the tighter aiming accuracy in the OG.
@shinzero0271 Жыл бұрын
I think the aiming accuracy might be a settings issue. I had no problems with it after adjusting my settings. I went back to the PS2 version of the original after playing remake on PC (using an Xbox controller) and hated it because it felt like I had worse aim and movement options. The only plus side was that the enemies also had limited movement in comparison.
@Veloc1 Жыл бұрын
@@shinzero0271 I’m specifically referring to the aim “bloom” in the remake, not the camera movement. Leon’s hands are shaky when aiming a pistol in the OG, but the bullets always go where the dot is. In the remake you have to wait a few seconds for your crosshair to shrink before you can get an accurate shot, otherwise it’s RNG where your bullets go. Also, the PS2 version has an abysmal dead zone which makes aiming feel pretty unresponsive.

Sometimes it's upper management unaware of those problems, sometimes it's devs simply not implemening stuff because lack of time+money. Either way it's hard to pick out the voices on KZbin that have genuinely feasible solutions, from a sea of others, and I hope yours gets to reach the ears of some people that need to hear it. A userbase typically is the last place you want to hear technical feedback from, because everyone has their own idea of what should be, but within that userbase, there are passionate fans, that while not working in the industry, can still have legitimately good experience and insight, and those heavy users tend to be the most likely to have carefully cultivated thoughts on things. Actual valuable insight. At the very least they shouldn't be entirely ignored. I guess that's why one goes to work in QA in the first place. But passionate nerds don't make the products, they just complain in public spaces over and over... 😁🤓

Great video. Even though I've been a big fan of these remakes (even 3 to a lesser extent than 2 and 4), it's refreshing to watch someone give the originals the praise they deserve and not claim that the remakes have rendered them obsolete. In many ways, these remakes do surpass their classic counterparts, but the original games are still great and don't deserve to be written off entirely as many normies have simply because a newer, shinier version exists. Since you brought it up, I hope you'll do a video on Code Veronica at some point because it's a great, if imperfect, title that Capcom is sadly ignoring at the moment.

Maybe some old man boomer talk but aren't the controls of the original just part of its DNA?? the gameplay works because of the controls. Not even a nostalgia guy, I played RE4 for the first time in 2017 or something and I'm old enough to have grown up on a diet of Van Damme movies. Just seems like you're missing the point by just having free movement as well as movement while aiming. Might as well just make it Left 4 Dead at that point. No wonder they compensate with bullet sponge enemies. In the original it's a game of pushing or retreating, and tactical shooting of limbs. Maybe greater freedom of movement 'feels' better. But does it always play better? Wish this was talked about more.

I think the biggest complaint I have with the remake is the voice acting, ashley, surprisingly enough, was about the only character I think they improved, Leon, Luis, Kruaser, Salazar, and Ada were all downgrades, Leon in OG had a cadence to his voice that made you feel like he wasn't taking things particularly seriously but he would shift to a serious tone when things were serious, remake Leon just sounds like an edgy teenager. Luis doesn't sound suave anymore, almost sounds more like puss in boots to me, Krauser used to be voiced by Jim Ward who also voiced Douge god damn Dimmadome, so that's a loss, and Ada, well, we all know about Ada
@shinzero0271 Жыл бұрын
It's weird with Ada because she sounds disinterested most of the time but sounds best when she's calling Leon over the radio. It makes me wonder if it was more of a recording studio issue than anything else, like someone forgot to adjust a dial or turn on/off an audio filter.

An ideal remake should keep at least 95% of the content of the original. So I think judging from a remake standpoint the ranking would be: RE1R, Dead Space Remake>RE4R>RE2R. It's a shame that some setpieces were removed, death scenes were censored, but what bothered me about the remake is the lack of polishing by the developers: the game has bad hit detection (kzbin.infoUOonbfhrSOA?&t=2h08m42s), enemies attacking from off-screen (something that was fixed in other action games like Devil May Cry 4, in 2008!) and not having the option to put a laser sight on all weapons (especially that the laser removes the crosshair bloom). Del Lago could be improved too, since the fight against him remains the same in NG+, the game could give you an opportunity to use other weapons.
@agt_pendergast8899 Жыл бұрын
I just want to add that the control feel so laggy and slow. It seems like an eternity just for Leon to bring up his gun to aim or stop moving in a direction. Having more movement options seems to have come at the cost of snappier, more responsive controls.

I think the only villain who got a nerf was Salazar. His and Leon's banter was one of the best parts of the original. Every other villain was just kinda there.
