Yes that's correct, you are seeing the view on the side of the instructor. He cuts the throttle and then the movement you see is from the pilot in the right seat and finally the instructor brings the throttle back in when they are on the ground.

The instructor in the left seat induced the simulated engine failure... the pilot in the right seat performed the autorotation
