Nice tutorial, very concise and well explained! Not sure if you missed it coz of the headphones but the Pulteq EQ has an analog setting which adds an emulation of machine noise from the hardware unit - which may not be desired for a clean psy bass, so when i use it I set that to "off" :)

Great tutorial, but the drive knob definitely adds saturation to the sounds. You just have to turn it up a lot. When I decide to use the drive knob I map it to a macro, switch the "mix" parameter to "level" and map it to the same macro with a slight bend in the matrix. Now you won't have volume changes while turning the drive macro and you'll be able to easily decide how much drive you want to add to the sound. If you can't hear the effect with your speakers try it out with the basic shapes sine and take a look at a spectrum analyzer 😉

Could you make a video of how to make a bass line like Talpa style? Lot of glides and that kind of stuff
@yalilevanon92096 жыл бұрын
use the portamento and legato and mono option that gives it a glide, same principles in general with all the psy basses, envelope modulating the cutoff. to hear a bright glide give it a little more sustain and more decay even release at both env 2 and env 1 (amp env) . hope you got me bro and good luck ! Is the linking to velocity that much different in sound? I used to render the final sound as audio and use LFOTool as a sidechain for the bassline to get the moving effect.

perfect video! can somebody answer me a noob question?? do you use (sine) sub bass or not? that confuses me a lot..thanks
@jarokiii3295 жыл бұрын
When I make sub basses I use a square wave and a low pass filter. That way I can easily get a nice distorted sound because a sine is the most basic form of wave and doesn't really allow for much change using filters etc. Whereas a square wave has lots of harmonics and allows for a very unique sound should you spend the time sculpting it, hope this helped!
@chanex29915 жыл бұрын
@@jarokiii329 hey Thank you!! ok i get that with the waves :) Thanks for the tip! .....so as i understand there are no rules for making a good bass patch (number of oscilators, presence and shape of sub oscilator, layers of bass..)

Hi bro! Thanks for all the videos! I just have to aks you something.. I saw that you render your bass to it be consistent and thight , but you render all the diferent notes of the bass separately ? Or you just recomend create all the midi sequence and then mix it in sample ? And one more time thanks for all the tuts ;)

Go for MIDI when you're sequencing, but when you mix it down bounce it to audio and have it set in stone if you can. Cheers - Andrew.

But if we change the psytrance bassline I'm afraid it will no longer be psytrance or at least not the "standard one". Some artists just prefer to stick to the usual basslines and elements.

Pleaseee? I'm not going to upload it, follow the steps, learn from what you can't recreate. A good teacher isn't going to give the answer, but lead you to it. I've shown you the process now interpret it the appropriate way for Logic. Everything inside SERUM should be exactly the same, it'll sound the same in any DAW.
