Those plug wires need tending to. The reason they appear so lengthy is because they're routed wrong. The proper routing is below & behind the exhaust manifolds....thru factory-correct shielding.

My Dad acquired a '63 in '64 from a bank which had to repossess it. White two door, 283. Learned to drive on it and for all purposes it became mine in '68. Used it to commute to college during days and at night learned mechanics and worked in a gas station to keep it on the road. At 7 yrs old it had only 26,000 miles on it, but the body by Fisher was a POS ! What a rust bucket. I had more bondo on the car than body metal. Eventually had to pull both doors and fenders because there was nothing the bondo could hold onto. Met the love of my life in that car and had many a great time with it. Trany went @ 100,00 but motor was untouched. Couldn't beat those 283s. By '84 metal below driver rotted out so if the brakes failed you could stop the car via the Fred Flintstone way; the entire car just started to "feel" unsafe. Had to let it go with 125,000 original miles on it. Would LOVE to own another one, especially with stick, but the cost would be just prohibitive....

I have a 63 SS 327 2speed powerglide but I wish it was a 4 speed. I also have fender skirts but I leave them off and mounted in the trunk.

This is the most fucking ignorant statement I've heard in a while. Sure, Chicanos (aka Mexican-Americans) started the Lowrider movement in the early 70's, but you seriously haven't noticed every white-boy hot rod, rat rod, pick-up truck slammed on air bags and big wheels ?

Why don,t you do your thing and let the rest of the world do theirs? You French have nothing to talk about. Does Gagnon mean someone has not gagged you yet in French?

Nice car! I agree on the skirts. They ruin the looks of most cars. Alternators did come on all 1963 Chevies. In 1962 alternators came on 327 Impalas with Air Conditioning.

One of the best ones I've seen on tubeyou. Back when listed I would have snagged it .. but I was also being put through the wringer by way of California divorce... unfortunately, collectors have priced most out over assembly line vehicle which are readily available. Prices would be on par if it were a unique special order, copo or extremely low production. So I settled for 69 impala custom missing only power locks, cruise and hideaways which I bought for 15 hundred needing some TLC on original 45k one owner miles.

I Don't recall that these Impalas, came stock with alternators, in those days. Generators, yes, but alternators, I seriously doubt it. Thank You!

I'm pretty sure generators died in 1962...

The 1963 Chevrolet Impala had an alternator. My dad bought a four -door sport sedan with a 283 and a Powerglide transmission. In 1969, I bought a car identical to this with a 327 and an alternator.
