I had a new boxter in 1999 it was red automatic and for the 2 weeks I had it I got 13 different woman to either blow me or bend over in or on the car all because they believed I had money because of a Porsche!

The small window top is an aftermarket glass top replacement...the early models (97-02) had the larger plastic windows and the later cars (03-04) had the factory glass top. The small window glass top is a replacement for the plastic ones.

As a boxster owner. They are such an underrated car. I am even considering a second one just for racing it at the track. They are such a good platform for track use and daily, livable Porsche. Its been 6 years since ive bought mine and have not have any issues with it and before heavy track use, my wife and i would drive all over the state of texas in it.

@@Michael_Ruiter It's pretty reasonable. I have a friend that is 6'2 and he fits/drives just fine in it. Although a good tall people mod is the GT3 center console delete, it brings out a lot of leg room.

@@ryansanchez2448 Hell yeah, glad to hear it’s taller friendlier. Also yes, the New Edge is a very underrated car, mine had 200,000mi, intake, bigger throttle body, and an X pipe and she was great. If I had the money I’d do one of each, but a hardtop New Edge as the vert takes up a lot of space. I miss that car so much, sounds better than the coyote albeit a lot slower

He actually got another one last year (although it's a V6) and started road racing it as a purpose build. It actually handles very well and won it's class in Champcar. Really enjoyed my time racing in it.

No way! I just bought one of these! 01 Boxster S in crazy good, garage-kept condition. 73k miles. Seal grey metallic on black interior. $14k. I loved how it sounded and drove so much that I got the IMS Solution installed and a PCCM Porsche head unit installed for Android Auto. I'm sitting at about $20k all in but it's a perfectly modern car inside and classic looking outside. Also I'm gay, so my whole dating pool thinks it's sexy and way newer than it actually is! Nothing but a win-win for me lmao

Just drive one, then comment. It shares 90% of the 911, but with a mid engine. That’s from the doors forward. This is the reason the Cayman is better than the 911 and when you put equal engines, brakes, tires, etc. This mid engine chassis will outperform every time.

Boxsters get a bad rap because of the 'poor man's 911' meme, it doesn't have an internet cult following like a miata or a 240sx, and people shy away from it because it's still a Porsche so maintenance can be much more expensive (meaning the parts) than a similar priced japanese roadster. That being said, I had the pleasure of driving one and in terms of how they drive they're superior to most roadsters you'll be able to scoop up for 10 grand. All in all a good deal if you find well maintained one

I did something incredibly stupid sold a running, driving car and got a non-moving 99 base Boxster, Arena Red with tan interior, all in really good cosmetic shape, for $2500. Ran great, a BUNCH of new parts, but the dealer gave up when it wouldn't move. The clutch had become a murder frisbee. With limited mechanic skills, the clutch was actually surprisingly easy. I'd bet you could pull the whole engine with the car on jack stands. So the thing moved with $3100 total invested at that point. Of course other little shit goes wrong. It's 24 years old. Bad front motor mount, airbag light after disconnecting battery, speakers were blown and even after replacing them the stereo itself sucks because it was crap to begin with, starter screams but only in the most embarrassing places... regardless, it's an incredible car. They're seriously underrated. If you haven't driven one, at least give it a shot. A manual one, because the automatic is more like autotragic.
