College Application Tips for Homeschoolers - Dr. Bernstein

Being home schooled for the whole 12 years, and wanting to go to school from the age of 15 but not being allowed to by my parents. I tend to have a negative view on homeschooling for the later part of school, so how do I bring out the best view on something that I feel is/was a negative influence on myself due to the level of home schooling not being near that level of actual schools?

Hi! I am homeschooled currently. I went to public school up until grade 8 and then in grade 9 decided to switch to an online program. I am now going into my sophomore year, however, will be graduating a year early (so I'm technically a rising junior). My dream school is MIT and I want to know your opinion on the likelihood of my acceptance. I have always done really well in school (I took pre-calculus at 14), I'm currently working on implementing a solar project at my local elementary school, and I run track at the local high school. I understand the fact that there is no one way to tell if someone will get into a school, but there isn't a lot of info out there on the chances of being accepted to top-tier schools is for homeschooled kids. I'm not really looking for an exact answer, just what you understand about the subject.
