Hey Drew happy man today after the Ky.Wildcats won. !! Good call by you ! Here is another concern I have about Pope and why I am not quite on board with him yet. Pope wants to be THE PLAYER'S FRIEND and he is their COACH . That is tantamount to a parent and their child .To me that is oil and water. He can be FRIENDLY , but sometimes the players need hard coaching and discipline too . John Calipari would send a player to the bench to teach him a lesson . For example , if you watched the Ky. game , a "ME" Ky. player hit a 3 then turned to the Texas A & M bench TAUNTING them and drew a TECHNICAL FOUL ! Pope should have addressed that immediately . Then right at the end of the half, Ky. hit a 3 , and DID THE EXACT SAME STUPID BEHAVIOR which should have been another technical foul , but not called , and it would have been if Ky. was not on their home court . A good coach will not let " ME" players hurt the team and Pope better wake up ! This is coming from a die hard Ky. fan too. I will be riding with you on the IOWA ST. side tonight. I am just trying to learn to handicap College Basketball and my metrics so far are focused on the EYE TEST , COACH , TEMPO, HOME COURT , INJURIES, STRENGTH OF SCHEDULE , EMOTION , and FOUR SHOOTING. Years ago. I bet on the HOUSTON in 1983 against N.C. State in the NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP game , and got my butt kicked because Houston's great players could not hit free throws !! Since then , I will never bet on a team that cannot hit 70 % of FREE POINTS ! Great insight by you for the readers here. Duke is another team I am high on even with 3 Freshmen and have them right up there with Auburn and Iowa St.. If you can , could you offer me and other beginning college basketball cappers some of the metrics you use to handicap College Basketball . I start with the team rosters then look for injuries . Where do you start if not too personal ? Remember , I just bet sides so my metrics will not be as thorough as yours. Coaches loom high for me in College Basketball and I watch for ADJUSTMENTS in the 2nd. half as some of my criteria to evaluate Coaches. I am leaning allot listening to your College Basketball handicapping . Thank you !!!! HOMECOMING DAVID
