here are all of my college decision reactions for 2023!
i applied to 20 schools total, including all 8 ivies, uchicago, duke, stanford + SO MANY MORE lol
thanks to all of my friends that participated in my ivy day extravaganza

@@jessicali577 Do you know what an Ivy is? It's an athletic conference. It doesn't mean anything about prestige whatsoever by definition... do your research before you say vague, completely incorrect statements on which school is "better"

@@meepcheep314 Depends where you see your career - some industries (finance, consulting, etc) value the Ivy brand more than academic rigor. Not saying it's fair but that's how it is.

I’m so glad you withdrew form northeastern when you got deferred, a lot of people don’t do that and it might take a spot of someone who’s dream school deferred you

I’m c’o 2024 and am in the midst of applying to colleges. I really want to get into Johns Hopkins or U Chicago so congrats!! I’d literally be on the floor screaming 😭 You’re an inspiration to all of the Black girls & just ppl in general who are trying to get into their dream top schools 🥰

The dream school thing is so true because when I got into Howard I’d gone from dreaming of Brown to falling in love with HU. Whilst I can’t afford to go to college anymore, I’m so happy for my offer & im hoping to reapply in a year or so because now I know I don’t want to be anywhere but Howard.

Why wouldn't you recommend applying to 20 universities? In my country, we apply to around 25 universities and this is considered very normal.

Only 5 schools? but what if those 5 schools were the ones you got rejected to in the video, then you will be heading to community college :O. Why only apply to 5 schools?

there is normally a fee for a college application that can get up to $100 each! i was fortunate enough to get a fee waiver but some people can’t. ofc if ur applying to only 5, you wouldn’t want to do all reach schools and have a safety or two.

tbh there were a bunch of reasons! uchi was a lot more generous with their scholarship and they’re currently higher ranked. even tho ranks don’t really matter, i did take it into consideration when making such a difficult decision!

BTW the nine colonial colleges are Harvard 1636, W&M 1693, Yale 1754, Pennsylvania 1740 (also known a PENN N O T UPENN), Princeton 1746, Columbia 1754, Brown 1764, RUTGERS! 1766, and Dartmouth 1769.
