College Dorm Dumpsters Were Filled with Great Stuff!

We went back to the campus and found even more great items thrown away by the students moving out!! It was such a quiet morning - Looks like most of the students have officially moved out and it will be the last day of the big dumpsters.
We had too much fun diving college move out this year and are already making plans for next year. Stay tuned for the HAUL video!! I can't wait to show you all everything we've found.

It was such a quiet morning on campus.. it looks like all the students have officially moved out and they'll be taking the big dumpsters away now. It has been a lot of work but so much fun diving college move out this year. Well i found s bloody sheet a puke towel a pillow case& a funky ugg towel. Took it all to the laundromat cleaned dried& gave to 2 homeless guys in a tent. They were grateful. Sheets& towels& clothes can be washed& reused. Its so fing cracra wh a t all gets tossed. LANDFILL 101 OUGHT TO BE REQUIRED CURRICULUM!

I love watching y'all. Because, you two donate stuff to help others, and to fill up the community blessing boxes. Alot of divers don't do that. Some of them do it to only benefit their own household. You wash clothes, and clean things before you donate them, which is super sweet. Plus I love that y'all pick up messes that other divers leave all over the ground. You two are the sweetest little couple. ❤

Some of the students literally have to get on a plane to go home and can't take or ship all they collected during the school year. I just wish they had shelves or areas on campus where they can leave stuff for people to pick through rather than a dumpster. Here, the goodwill puts out signs that urge students to donate to them rather than throw away.

OMG Thank you. I'm so tired of explaining this to ppl who didn't go to college. Can't take this stuff on a plane or with a ride share - no room. The university should set up a donation area.

The thing about donating to goodwill is they charge so much. I donate clean unwanted things to the local nursing homes, they really benefit a lot from it.

I so love your college campus hauls!! On the other hand, I’m so sad to see what these students discard. I bet if they had worked for all the items they throw away, they wouldn’t get rid of this!! How their parents allow such waste is beyond my comprehension!!!😢

Actually, the colleges should organize drop-offs for kids to leave things by category. Such as, a place for any un-opened food, a place for good furniture, a place for un-opened personal and cleaning items, such as un-opened shampoo, soap, detergent, etc. Then, at the beginning of the next semester, students could “shop” at the storage facility. It really wouldn’t take but a couple of faculty/staff members who are environmentally conscious to organize such an area.

The wrought iron outdoor chairs are a Metal Scrappers dream! And in those campus dumpsters, all the metal items, items with small motors like fans, vacuum cleaners for the cords, big & small appliances, lamps, anything with electrical cords, and power tools with electrical cords. Truly a Scrapper Treasure Trove! 😅🎉

Just a thought - if you find bedding that has been tossed Alex could run a couple of seams about 2" apart down the length, then the width . this will quarter the big bedding pieces, and then cut through the blankets in between your seams and you turn1 blanket in to 4 . then donate those to your local shelters for their animals. If you use the pillow cases and old pillows you find, you can make dogs cat beds, too. I also want to tell you both that I thoroughly enjoy your videos. I can live vicariously through your posts. I'm 64 and not able, due to disability, do fun things like dumpster diving, anymore. Thanks for the fun! My hats off to you both-DB

Here in Ohio (around Ohio State and Ohio University) when the students move out they simply put the things they aren’t taking along the curb. Of course there are dumpsters too but it certainly makes it nice to have the better things waiting along the curb. Columbus also has a community clean out during the spring and summer ALL free for the taking and usually really nice stuff! Your channel is one of the very first that I subscribed to on KZbin and have been a fan ever since! What you and Alex do (so glad he travels with you because he adds security for you and his sense of humor is hilarious!) anyway, as I was saying it is admirable and so kind of you both! ❤

It would make so much sense if the colleges would encourage the neighborhood dumpster divers to come in and go through all the thrown away stuff; less landfill, and it could really help out people who could seriously use the cast away goods. ✌🏼❤️

OMG I just thought of a cool idea with all the brooms. You could make a witches grave yard in your yard for Halloween. Decorate each broom and put names on them maybe get dollar store witches hats to top each broom off. I thought it was a cool idea. Enjoy

Such great finds you two have found during move out week. When our daughter was in college, the exchange students bought new items when they got to the U.S. and then threw it all away when school was over every year. We got some great stuff from them on move out day. I'm talking fridges, microwaves, toasters, bedding, clothing, you name it they threw it out. All of us parents grabbed it up as they brought it out.

@breafkast The bathroom shelves have to have the screw removed on the bottom bar where it goes behind the toilet that is why they all look like they are broken...just need a new screw when put back up. So many good finds.

I just gave my grandkids and my son's nephews a big goody bags full of books and art supplies. The books were from the library sale and the craft supplies from a rummage sale. The kids are 17, 14, 7, and 4 . Every child was very happy. Tina, Al's wife

I have a granddaughter leaving in August of 2023 for Sam Houston so I have seen things you have rescued that has helped me get her for her dorm. The drum that you found and showed is an Irish bodhran. The crossbar on the inside is for the drummer to hold the drum upright with one hand. It's played with one short stick called a tipper and a special technique by the drummer is used so that both ends of the tipper play the drum. I don't know if the other drums in there were also bodhrans or just more generic frame drums. If you look for KZbin videos of Irish instrumental music sessions you will find examples of them being played.
