Passing was difficult during the SMU game with 30mph wind gusts. That’s why Franklin went for it on 4th vs kicking the field goal. We saw the wind at play kicking when SMU missed and with some of Jennings passes. Indoors is totally different and I don’t think the passing game is a concern at all. PSU by 14.

🤔…..Boise State - love ‘em or hate ‘em - is a remarkable story. Just a Jr. College not so many years ago. Then Chris Peterson took them to the Fiesta Bowl in 2007 and beat Oklahoma (who had Adrian Peterson) and, like Penn State, was bigger/stronger/faster at every position. Boise State went on to win two more Fiesta Bowls. And now this new coaching staff has built another great (and underrated) team. Jeanty came in second in the Heisman Trophy voting. Jeanty and his team might have even a little extra motivation now. Penn State should win this game. But take Boise State lightly at your own peril.

Think its going to come down to the Boise defense. I am confident the offense behind Jeanty can hang with any of the playoff teams. However, there is a huge potential that the Boise secondary gets cooked. Boise has a good pass rush, but that wont be enough against some of these better teams.

Boise St fans like to look to the past to relive past success at the Fiesta Bowl victories, thinking that this is the same situation, it's not, they need to understand that in Bowl games, many of the top talent doesn't play as they prepare for the draft, so a lot of teams have 2nd and 3rd stringers playing which makes it more likely for upsets to occur, these playoffs will be different, no team is resting thier starters and won't overlook another team. Boise St is a 1 trick pony, they just don't have the depth that the other teams have

31-17 prediction includes two factors that I question. Pen Stopping the run from both Ashton and our quarterback while defending against Boises passing and secondly Boise sacking the quarterback. I agree it the passing game that gives pen an edge but is it enough. I'm not convinced. Boise has shown both willingness and ability to effectively convert on fourth. Lastly for a large part of the season Boise has had 2 and then 3 starting linemen hurt and out effecting the run game for Ashton. You will not hear Ashton say if I hadn't been hurt I already would have broke Berry's record. Ashton doesn't bring up his injury but in the first UNLV game he sustained a significant injury that has effected his ability to run the ball. Ashton will be healthy 3 of his linemen are back (all 5 linemen are healthy). Lastly Alexander teubner was a significant loss to Boises defence time will tell if he returns for pen matchup. He is the defensive captain and is a 6 year veteran.
