1. Oregon- They’ve handled their business, the Idaho and Boise games feel like distant memories. Second best win in the country and improving every week. 2. Georgia- Tough loss to Bama but a phenomenal resume otherwise with easy wins away from home against Clemson and Texas. We all know nobody wants to see this team come playoff time. 3. Penn State- Have mostly handled business outside of a few close games, and the Illinois win looks good. 4. Ohio State- Best loss in the country but with no signature wins as of yet. With that said, we all know this team can beat anybody on a neutral field. 5. Texas- Very tough loss against the first real team they played at home. But the defense is absolutely legit and I still believe in Sark to get the offense back to elite caliber. 6. Miami- They’re playing with fire but they’re still undefeated. Lot of 2022 TCU and 2023 Washington vibes with this team. 7. Tennessee- The defense might be the very best in the country. The offense showed me some real life in the 2nd half but I need to see consistent improvement before I feel good about their chances of winning in Athens. 8. LSU- The defense has gotten so much better, they’re starting to develop a run game, and Nuss is gutsy. 9. Clemson- The offense is legitimately top 5 in the country right now. They’ve looked like an excellent passing and rushing team for weeks. Just dominating competition. 10. Notre Dame- They’ve handled business well since NIU. Still have questions about the offense but the defense is truly elite.

Good Luck doing a top 10 after these last couple of weeks. You both had a one team that the other didn't. Indiana and Miami. Indiana hasn't really played anyone, but they killed everyone they have played, closest game was 14 points. Miami has won the last 3 by 12 points total. I think the top 12 teams is going to be hard this year with the super conferences where you are mostly likely going to have at least 1 or not 2 of the top 4 seeds be an underdog in their first game.

@CollegeFootballNerds - Read til the end! Thanks for the vid guys!! Love the content! Thanks for mentioning LSU! I think they will continue getting better week after week. When you were talking about elite defenses figuring out RPOs and modern stuff and that offenses now have to go back to the older "Pro Style" offense, that made me think about Garrett Nussmeier. This guy is a really good QB who is getting better every week, plus he has Joe Sloan. LSU just now started using their true freshman tight end in the offense and he is changing the looks that the offense gives the defenses. He played 40+ snaps against Arkansas. One more thing, the LSU defense is getting better every week. I predict that LSU wins out in the regular season, loses to Georgia in the SEC championship and does well in the playoffs. My prediction will be more accurate as the season goes along.

I would hold them in the top 10 with a win over Wisconsin on the road at night. I still think Allar’s confidence in key situations is a wildcard and offset by a pretty average wide receiver core to this point. Singleton should be back to full strength this Saturday and that should help. Have you noticed that the #5 seed in the playoffs gets the G5 opponent most likely and at home. And then the Big 12 champion in the next round. #5 seed seems like a favorable path to the semifinals. I guess that is because its the first one outside the top 4 😂

As of today, Penn State has played only 1 top-50 team per FPI. That was USC (arguably overranked at 15) and Penn State won in overtime. Illinois is, per most advanced metrics, a paper tiger and not a very good team (55th in FPI), partly because Michigan is only 38th and Nebraska is only 58th. Now, the Big Ten DOES have several very good teams, including 11 in the top-50 and 6 in the top-15. It just so happens that Penn State's game against USC is the only time it played one of the other 11 in that group. They have 4 in that group yet to play. It is quite consistent for Penn State to be a 10th-15th best team and be undefeated to this point, and end something like 11-1 or 10-2 due to the schedule. The criticism is that you all want to be ranked top-5 and it's just not warranted yet. It's a similar issue with Indiana, who has not played a top-50 team, at all. So it's not so much that the SEC is "so much better," it's more that the Big Ten happened to backload their schedules WAY more and most of the meaningful games are yet to be played.
