Learn ACE: a five-step study process to increase retention and save time for college students so they can use that free time to take advantage of all college has to offer. Brad Smith perfectly exemplifies the nature of his TEDx talk, on effectively managing time in college in
order to enjoy a rich, full life, while keeping your grades up.
He earned a 4.0 GPA, en route to graduating Summa Cum Laude from YSU in 2015, even while
participating in YS baseball all four years. He then brought his Bachelor of Science in Business
Administration back to his family business, as a fourth generation co-owner of Compco Industries.
In addition to his career, he became a Freemason in Ohio in 2017, and has pursued multiple leadership
and communication courses, including John Maxwell Executive Circle, Rooftop Leadership, Business NLP
Practitioner, and courses on dynamic public speaking.
In 2018, Brad married his college sweetheart Ashley, and still finds time for golf, coaching baseball, and travel. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

This is a great tool for anyone trying to take on immense amounts of information. I started using a similar approach in 2019, which this GOACE seems to greatly reflect. I'm an Intelligence Analyst for the US Army and an instructor of mine gave me the greatest quote of my life that I live by: "You don't have to force yourself to retain every single bit of info. You just need to know where to find it when you need it." I PDF all books, outline the most important ones, and as niche subjects are brought about I hit "control + F". Utilizing that simple method I can skim thousands of pages in a day which would take most weeks. You don't even really have to outline, but I personally feel typing or writing out things in my own words does help info retention. Also, when you only have hardcopy books, I say TAB YOUR INFO. I say again, TAB THE BOOK. If I see a fellow analyst who does not have tabbed books, I know automatically the likelihood that they will be of any help is near 0. You bought the book. Now use it. Don't be afraid to mark it up. The value of a tabbed, highlighted, personally cliff noted book is priceless. This completely eliminates that daunting mindset of staring at a stack of books or 40 pdf's thinking, "how on earth will I ever have the time for this...".
