I remember the last time that I fought a dragon as a player it was a part of a starter adventure in Pathfinder (another role playing game similar to DND) that my dad was leading my siblings and I through. As a final boss there was a baby black dragon. Now this might be a little unbelievable but I swear on my mothers life that it’s true. My Dwarven Fighter almost single handedly killed the dragon in 3 turns, by rolling two critical hits with a dragon bane sword we found earlier in the level. In DND this means rolling two twenties. In pathfinder to roll a Maximum damage Critical hit you have to roll 2 twenties in a row. In order to do two full damage critical hits I rolled FOUR 20’s In a ROW and killed the dragon on the third turn of combat. I did the math the chance of that happening was 1 out of 160,000. TLDR - I once rolled 4 twenties in a row and killed a baby black dragon as a first level character
@DoctorLazers
@DoctorLazers 6 жыл бұрын
It's a Wyrmling. They only have 30hp. Even without a Dragonbane sword or exploding crits, a decently built melee character can kill that in 3 turns with a little luck.
@InfinityMax365
@InfinityMax365 6 жыл бұрын
DoctorLazers um actually, in pathfinder a “Young Black Dragon” has a base HP of 76 and in the module it was bumped up to 85 to try and ensure the survival of said dragon for future use in the campaign (it was supposedly fly away after it have been reduced to 30 HP.) Wyrmling is two age classifications below the dragon I fought. I guess “baby” wasn’t the right word. Toddler might have been more correct? Idk I feel like even a 25 year old dragon is considered a baby with Their life times being so long, especially in the perspective of other dragons x)

@@robashton8606 Firstly, the question was about Game of Thrones, not A Game of Thrones. (i.e. the tv show, not the book) This is further emphasised by the discussion of Meryn Trant's killing, which has not happened in the books. Even if Syrio is dead in the books, he might still be alive in the television series. Secondly, I believe Syrio's death in the books, while highly likely, is not absolutely certain. G. R. R. Martin includes several other characters in the books whose fates remain ambiguous, something I believe he has also done in previous work of his. If you can point me to a passage in the books that makes Syrio's death unquestionable, I will of course consede this point; my memory is not perfect after all. But even if the books made it clear to the reader that Syrio really had passed, Arya would still not know. She leaves Syrio to fend with Ser Meryn on his own. We are only given some vague recollection of the events from Trant in retrospect. Given that Trant has good reason to lie about what happened, that his reputation for swordsmanship is terrible and that Syrio has famously swift feet, perhaps his escape was possible after all.

Um actually Moony was the nickname for Remus Lupin who was not an animagus but a werewolf and the reason the other marauders become animaguses, so they could keep their friend company on full moons

@@bismuthcrystal9658 Um, actually it couldn't have happened to more appropriately-named guy though, right? It wasn't enough for his parents - that's Lyall and Hope Lupin, just so we're clear - that their surname is one letter away from being an adjective that literally means "wolf-like". No, they also had to name him after one of the legendary founders of Rome who is said to have been suckled by a she-wolf as an infant. That's either bad writing on J.K Rowling's part, or those guys subconsciously _wanted_ their son to grow up to be a werewolf.

Um, actually, red dragons are solitary and engage in much more in-fighting, while blue dragons are more social, with a rigid hierarchy that would allow them to organize and implement military might and discipline under a suzerain, so while red dragons are slightly more powerful individually, blue dragons are more powerful as a species. ...I may have had a blue dragon army as a looming threat working its way across a continent in a campaign once. Also, it's harder to get resistances for their breath attack than for reds', as they breathe lightning, not fire, and every damn thing does fire.

4:22 "Um, Actually..." -- Mike didn't specify that it was "The Walking Dead" *TV show* for the question. In the comics, Abraham is killed much earlier by a crossbow bolt through the eye, fired by Dwight (the death the writers gave to Denise in the TV show instead). So that could also have been a correct answer.

Damn I got red, green, black, blue, white. I didn't realise blue was so powerful. I think it's because they get killed at low level in Critical Role. But neither of those were ancient blue dragons.
