Collete i think you can turn the steering colomn bracket upside down so you dont have to make another tube to mount it to.
@crazyace632 жыл бұрын
Yeah just unbolt the guide and flip the bracket which would put it under the cage bar. Easy and simple. I thought the same when I was watching. Look at us smarter not harder. Lol

Remember stupid people everywhere cant find a simple fix.
@georgesmith27352 жыл бұрын
They already flipped it upside down - Watch close during the time-lapse at 19:30, the clamp side is on top vs the logo side (like it was mounted earlier in the vid before the dash mockup).

You are a lunatic, you put on one hell of a show at the lz burnout comp
@davidblanck41312 жыл бұрын
I always figured you and Taylor were sharing notes and helping each other honestly. I'm surprised fans of both channels didn't feel the same way. The community seems like a "help each other" situation as opposed to a "I did it first" thing. We aren't talking drag racing lol. Also, there are subtle differences between your builds that may not he the same either way. Hell, both of you are beating cleetus at this point.
@bryce21132 жыл бұрын
This ^^^. Instead she seemed pretty defensive about it which is a shame.....
@Roxyboarder4192 жыл бұрын
Your build is really coming along nicely. You can tell you had a vision on what you wanted and really planned everything out. All the work is done at such a high level, you really are laying out a good foundation for others to follow on the front mount conversion. Keep it up, I can’t wait to see you smoking the tires off of her.

As someone who has the opposite problem with vehicles, I am slightly envious of short people problems. Seriously, I do enjoy the longer videos with more detail in the how and why its being built the way it is.
@sabishiikarasu41582 жыл бұрын
The learning process in the end is the best part of building I feel at my age . So much of this vid can transfer over to other chassis’s just in the ideas 💡. These longer format vids I dig also . 💯🖤🍻👊🏼

I think this might be my favorite build on YT. Collette and team are killing it. If ever given the opportunity to build my dream comp car, high comp Texas speed 427 with spray and a dog box front trans with winters rear end and a wild livery. And this is painted!!!
@LucasRea-492 жыл бұрын
Super Corvette build...although a dry sump tank in the passenger compartment is an extremely bad idea. It is a two piece tank that can rupture in a high g crash covering the driver with hot oil. Put it in the back behind a bulkhead or in the engine compartment if possible.
@anthonymontilla48072 жыл бұрын
Pretty sure that its going to have something that's gonna cover it, like Adam did in his s15 and Adam had a big crash with odi and it didn't rupture so I'm pretty sure she's fine
@LucasRea-492 жыл бұрын
@@anthonymontilla4807 You are most likely correct for the general drift environment....I just think it is a good idea to contemplate worst case scenario like sliding into a palm tree or other situation where g level is instant and high....hopefully nothing ever happens however, if good choices are made before it can be helpful.

Nick does great work. Even has the dry sump oil can mounted. Should give him a time-lapse camera setup. Would some sort of sliding mount for the peddle kit be an option? Similar to the seat mount. Just thinking of Adam doing any driving as well as more options for seating/peddle position flexibility.

I think the main learning point here is to fully build the car at the mock up stage, way before you think about paint. That way all fab work is done before any paint is applied, leaving no cut edges to repaint or cover up for the final build.
@5IMON5AY52 жыл бұрын
I would defs put some paint or primer over over the exposed metal where you cut.. asking for corrosion to start otherwise.

If you flip that steering bracket over you should be able to gain more than enough clearance for the dash without cutting anything. Just remove the Hiem joint and swap it to the other side.
