This practice, commonly known as bodyshopping, has been prevalent for over three decades. Anyone in the IT industry from India is familiar with it, and there are millions of bodyshopping firms operating at various capacities across the US. These firms often describe themselves as consulting companies, placement agencies, resourcing companies, staffing companies, and so on. They profit by taking 20 to 30% of their consultant's salary from every paycheck for as long as the consultant works for them. There is often no respect, verbal abuse, delayed salary payments, limited or no benefits, unpaid overtime, no paid vacation, sub-standard treatment, and the list goes on. These bodyshoppers often require their consultants to apply for green cards through the company, effectively locking them in for 10 to 15 years, during which the company makes substantial profits. Sad state of affairs!

Totally twisted news... Usually employers hire bunch of such Grads, trains them, provide accommodation and takes their margin when they get a job. Since, they are very stingy they provide 1 house for 15 members. Since, those grads have no means of income, they have no option left but to stay there, train and find a job. No trafficking nothing, they are living there at their own will. Just a bunch of grad students with poor accomodation, moreover the job market is very worst these days.

I’m not convinced why it’s categorized as human trafficking 🤔 All those victims are educated and are not locked up in that house. They even have their cell phones and laptops with them 😊
@sdash62423 ай бұрын
1:01 they were picked up from airport and were being given training for JavaScripting. It means they were neither on student visa nor on high-skilled H1 visa.
@UrbanMonk1233 ай бұрын
They all are on F1 (student) Visas. Do you think the universities they studied or got the visa through handed over them to the culprits?
@dewanh403 ай бұрын
There are fake education institutions run by ..... law enforcement busted one or more such universities few years back. It's a huge ring of network. They also operate scamming business from India and their US collaborators collect scam money and send back home to their headquarter oversees.

The way traffickers work, they will take the person's passport and personal cell phone. They will threaten them that the police will arrest the captive if they talk (for being here potentially illegally).
@UrbanMonk1233 ай бұрын
@@audreyplaysnice2086 that’s right. But in this case nobody took their passports or cell phones.
