Collin Morikawa is known for his premier ball striking ability on the PGA Tour, ranking consistently in the top of the Strokes Gained: Approach-The-Green stat week in and week out. It's easy to see why with his smooth, consistent iron swing here.

As soon as I started firing my hips, I started raising my heel off the floor before impact. I'm hitting it miles and straight now but I thought my swing wasn't "technically" sound. Good to see there are tour pros with the same quirk in their swing.

Very modern swing. Keeps the clubface working back to the ball during the takeaway, then picks the club up steeply to prevent the hands rotating behind him. Very little hip turn at the top, but a massive hip turn to return the club back to the ball, this minimizes the flip with the hands. Incredibly consistent and repeatable!!

During the interviews at the Masters I saw a different Collin Morikawa an arrogant Collin Morikawa which I didn’t like & his game showed it in the finals at the Masters! Collins Morikawa also stated he got GREEDY & it made him look like the loser he was! I love these videos. However, it’d be nice to know if he was hitting a draw, a fade, etc. I’m not skilled enough to look at this swing to determine if he was specifically swinging with one of these hitting types in mind. Maybe someone on the interweb might be able to say. I’d love to duplicate (as close as I might think) his mechanics but this could be completely wrong if his intention was to hit a different type of shot then a “straight” ball.
