Danny, not only are you a brilliant coach, you're an incredibly brave man teaching your wife how to play golf. My wife, fortunately, has no desire to play golf and it's a good thing. She is the most competitive person I know. If she played, it would be "Golf Wars"!!! Great lesson of the basics. We can all use them from time to time. Your comment about your wife being a little impatient with learning golf, I think that's a pretty common thing. Many people that don't play think that golf can't be that hard, it's not a real sport. Thanks, for what you do. Cheers!

I only discovered you a couple months ago Danny boy. I’ve been golfing for 25 years and I have a 13 handicap. I hit ok shots but never know where they’re going to go. In 6 months you got me down to a 3 handicap. I was a little ball, and big ball (earth:) simultaneous contact.I now hit clean shots ball first that soar high and give me an extra 15 yards on every club. A little more with my driver. Your lesson about unfreezing the left side for a right hand golfer was my golden nugget. I didn’t realize how frozen that left side was.. I now know it’s go time when I have my back to my target, and my club along the target line. This is me giving you a brotherly hug Danny boy ✊🏻⛳️😎🤜🤛 You have a way of explaining it like no one else has. Ron James Hart

Just started golfing about a month ago and I’ve been so frustrated with my irons that I’ve almost given up.I watched this video last night before bed for the first time and practiced what you’ve shown this morning. I headed to my local driving range this afternoon and I went from fatting or thinning just about every strike ti hitting 40 balls in row with my 7 iron about 150 yards and most were with 20-30 yards of the pin. I seriously could not believe I was doing it. Such a great feeling to see progress like that. Can’t thank you enough for the instruction!

Hi Danny, Don’t envy you teaching your wife, mine started at the tender age of 70. After a few weeks and some lessons from me I decided that if we were going to stay married she would need to get lessons from a golf pro. 😀 I have spent fifty years rolling my forearms and whipping my hands inside, I’ve had literally hundreds of lessons and as soon as I get on the course I’m back to my old habit. I saw the thumbs up drill a few weeks ago and a light came on, I do it in the house for 10 minutes every day and it’s revolutionised my game. I’m hitting everything as straight as the proverbial frozen rope, but the major benefit has been it’s stopped me from having hundreds of swing thoughts and trying to hit positions.

WOW - this is the best teaching I've seen yet. I was just complaining to my wife that nobody tells you how far to lean over. I was hitting the ball all over the place and sometimes quite terribly. I just tried these tips with my driver and I was dead straight and added 20mph to my ball and each hit sounded like a shot gun. I just had the longest drive of my life focusing on the thumbs and got to 140mph which I've never done before. I think I had been over rotating on my arms and this solved so much for me. Thank you so much for this video.

I think this is a great lesson. I also think that husbands shouldn’t try to teach their wives how to play golf. Too many issues can arise and women’s bodies work differently than men’s anyway. most of the time I tell women to get another woman professional to give them a lesson but this is great and I will share it with with other women. I am working with a friend who has never played any other sport in her life. She has a really hard time even knowing what it means to set up in an athletic position. Thank you for all the great ideas you have shared. ❤

Phenomenal drill. I’m a ten handicap player, but never had a lesson (only ever played recreationally). However in the last few months I’ve become obsessed with golf and have been watching your videos to help me improve. This video is by far the best I have seen. It helped me feel how my rotation is supposed to feel (I suffer from early extension when trying to get a little more power), and also made me realise how much I have been relying on hand eye coordination in my swing due to being very armsy. Going to start getting lessons over the winter to be ready for next season, but this has given me such a better foundation to work on

Very very helpful! Many thans for that! One of the most difficult things for me is ( i started playing golf 5 month ago) to get this „rotation thing“ explained. Your video finally got me to the point, where i understood what to do! So many pros tell you „ simply“ rotate your hips and shouders, but there is - and so many struggle with it - nothing simple at all, it is a damn task to get this coordinated to finally get a good contact with the ball and then the turf - but thats another story 😀

Danny, this is a great video for beginners also for people like me who tend to fall into bad habits without realising it! It's a brilliant way to get back to basics. You are a great teacher too. You make everything so easy to understand. Thanks Danny.

Great tips here Danny, so important to find simple concepts to help newbie golfers and not overwhelm them with too much. Keeping it simple and short is the best approach, that way they take the information in and can apply it. Cheers
