Exactly. Still not a Martin tone, nor vintage Martin time, but alot closer while still keeping the Collings sound. I feel these traditionals have character. Which imo some Collings were missing. I wasn't a Collings fan, even though they're amazing guitars, but I like these alot

I wonder how the intonation holds up with the uncompensated saddle. I know have to sweeten things a bit on my guitar that has it. I definitely notice the difference on my compensated guitars

I have a line on one of these for a good deal. Imua martin guy and own a 000-28 Custom Authentic 1937. But want to pair it with an OM. Idk if pairing it with another Indian rosewood back guitar is a good idea. But it sounds dam good. And that's coming from someone who usually isnt a bif Collings fan. These traditionals are imo what Collings sound should be

Okay guys i'm currently on the hunt for my first high end acoustic and just fell in love with this guitar. How much difference will a standard series om2 be? I live in the middle of the woods in a country without many guitars to try so it's kind of a crapshoot.

Difference as in price, or as in tone/playing experience? The price difference between the Standard and Traditional series ranges from $1k-1.5k. Either way, you'd do well to consider pre-owned. In terms of tone and playing experience, we'll admit we are all converts to the T-Series guitars. Collings are known for having a strong, bright high end, but the bracing and voicing of the T-Series guitars mellows that out. But if you get a pre-owned Standard that's been really well played in, it's going to have a lot of warmth and nuance, too. @@cartervintagebackstage Thanks for the reply. Yeah i meant differences in sound. I do really like the standard OMs aswell so maybe i just need to open one up with some playing. Since the guitar in the video is both a T and used maybe it would be unfair to compare it to a brand new standard :)

@@hellsSG Indeed! I don't want to undersell the Standards, as they're still fabulous guitars with just a slightly different tone and feel. But they are voiced differently, so if you do find yourself liking the tone of the Ts more, it's worth it to hold out for what you really want, especially since you're ordering from afar.
