After few years I came back to listen couple of his songs that i really dig and omg what a talent, pure virtuoso and beautiful melodies incorporated in every tune he makes. That Collins I don't know is there any OM that can compete with it, maybe, but those guys who make them don't do compromise, it is like they use hidden secret luthier knowledge, beautiful guitar with right choice of player.

I'm not jealous of his technical ability (although I'm so far away from it, I can't even recognize the extent of it). I'm jealous of his undiminished self-expression despite having undergone the repetition and drudgery that it takes to acquire that technical ability.

Interesting perspective, but it's not like this kind of technique or talent can be acquired by brute force. On a fundamental level Lage has always had more musicality, technique etc. than most ever will, but it so clearly flows within him. To him, musical expression is like breathing or walking down the street.
@JamesRone2 жыл бұрын
@@tokenparade7463 I agree. I feel like we're saying similar things.
@tokenparade74632 жыл бұрын
@@JamesRone True. I just think it's hard to know what it feels like to be a true savant. Lage practicing scales at the age of 10 might've felt, to him, like every colour in the universe was coming out his guitar, but to the average joe it's drudgery. It's fun to think about anyhow.

Honestly i think there could have been a better way to review the guitar and demonstrate the sound qualities. The tunes he plays are a little "busy" , too many notes , he's demonstrating his agility on a fretboard more than anything else.

I don't think the intent of this was to review the guitar. It was just to let an excellent guitar player go off an an excellent guitar.
