A little bit of history. Britannia Football Club was formed in 1877 & started using Victoria Park in 1882. They tried many times to enter the VFA but where deemed disorganised. In early 1892 Britannia dissolved the treasurer, committee men & some players defected to Fitzroy while the rest who didn’t formed the Collingwood Football Club. When the treasurer deflected to Fitzroy he took the game day Bell until it was returned to Collingwood in the 1960’s that bell is the one at the beginning of the video

Thank god the superimposed advertising didn't last.

It was a sad day, losing the last game at victoria park and finishing last. But little did we all know that this young side would play off in a grand final just 3 years later!

Yeah, I'm surprised to see that there.. I recall outcry about the superimposed ads when the Wallabies did and the all said we'd never do that kind of thing.

R. I. P. AFL footy at Victoria Park (1892-1999)🏟 At least the ground isn’t demolished and is now the home of Collingwood’s AFLW team, and could hopefully host Collingwood pre-season games in the future

@J G mate do you seriously have anything better to do with your time? You go onto literally Australian rules video and spam this same stupid comment. And the account you’re using is like your 3rd or 4th one since you keep getting banned. Australian rules football is the greatest game in the universe.

One day later, Waverley Park would host their last VFL/AFL game.
