Federico, I have rim & disc! I built up a little used, custom orange Bianchi Specialissima, last year. It had Shima(NO!) Dura-Ace, and other bad stuff on it, so I got it all off, and sold it all off quickly. Brand new Campagnolo Super Record 12-speed EPS, Campagnolo WTO Wheels, ENVE bars & stem, special order Selle SMP F30 carbon saddle, etc. Total was about £8,000!!! I had a Colnago C60 with 11-speed SR EPS, Bora wheels, etc, but I was told the wrong frame size by 5 Colnago dealers. Second bike fit, found stem too long, with bars to wide, with ENVE carbon 38cm bars & 80mm stem to sort it(£770!!!). It did not look right, so I had some of my pension to get a C64 in my right 56s size, with someone having a Campagnolo equipped, disc version. I said I did not need the saddle, bars & stem, as I was getting the Deda Alanera bars I wanted originally, pedals were not included, but it had the WTO wheels in the 60 size. Shifters were Record, with Record front mech, and Super Record chainset & rear mech. I am having it changed to SR EPS, from mechanical, but this time have bought the bits myself, which has saved a fortune, with some really cheap prices for brand new kit!!! When I went to get the Deda bars, I was told of some big news coming soon! A few days later, they announced the newer, lighter RS model with a price of nearly £800(so I put my order in!!!). It is in more sizes, including my 100 x 40, but there is a waiting list for them! I am just waiting for the call to say, they have arrived, to get it built-up. I had the external interface, and special bar mount, but newer RS model will not take, so had to get the internal bar end interface! I have saved on saddle, bottle cages, and pedals, by transferring from the C60. I had another F30 carbon saddle, ordered for the C60, from previously(£275 each!) The C64 will cost about the same, although selling the C60 has been a pain, with me having to sell some bits separately, but someone bought the frame, groupset & wheels, yesterday, although at a cheaper price! My other bike is a virtually unused, Bianchi "Pantani Replica" with Campagnolo Record, and "Pirate" saddle! I have all his 1998 kit, including the original yellow presentation jersey(sourced from Roma!). Imagine the look's I get!!!

I would never brake hard on a bicycle, due to the narrow tyre and light weight. Some think you can brake like on a motorbike, that's not the case. Personally I feel like if I was going to buy a rim brake bike I'd rather just buy an older bike. There was a time when all the most advanced bikes were all rim brake so they're all out there on the used market and many are going to be more aero or just as light/lighter than the new colnago. I'm sure newer carbon layup tech might make the colnago more comfortable or stiffer in the BB without the harshness that used to be the tradeoff for it, but you'll save a ton of cash. I know some people say this about the new disc brake bikes but for me they're different because I value the new wider tyre clearances and thicker tubes allowed by the UCI now.

This is so Tadej can win the Vuelta in 2024…..think I’m wrong?

Not sure if this is linked, but for sure Tadej had difficulties adapting to the new disc V4RS

Жаль что перестают производить велосипеды с rim brake. Я 3 года езжу на дисковом велосипеде и понимаю что эти диски не нужны. Еще совсем недавно все ездили на rim brake и все было хорошо.

One thing they forget to mention....changing a flat...rim NO problem...disc a little more difficult...always skip that part 😅

Great a few manufacturers are doing modern rim brake frames. However for traditionalists like me, being e-groupsets only is a bit annoying. If you get a new frame, even if rim brake compatible it is electronic only so your older mechanical groupset won't fit. Then of course they stop making mechanical shifters/ groupsets because its so much easier and cheaper to make electronic ones with much fewer moving parts, and full of more plastic, rather than metal. I just hate how everything is electronic and needs an app to do anything with these days!

@@swites yes, it leave you some doubts for the future thinking that if the app is no longer working you would not be able to adjust your gears anymore. But it is pros and cons of analogue vs digital

@@fede1275 True. I do love the idea of wireless systems- just a bit beyond my budget. My friend had one of the first generation sram 11sp ones but the battery clip broke off his rear derailleur so he had to tape it on each time after charging to get it to work! Quite expensive to replace these new high tech derailleurs these days when before it was just a few hundred dollars.
