I enjoy your videos because you show the genuine kindness of most Colombianos. I lived in Colombia for three years and would never venture to Cucuta without a local or security for fear of kidnapping from anti government forces.I know Bogota, including Sante Fe, Kennedy y Patio Bonito. I feel safe in those areas during the daytime but would never show a phone or camera in public. There is a local saying "no dar papaya". Translated don't give a fruit, but in reality it means don't be stupid and leave yourself vulnerable. Colombia is a wonderful country but there is an element that will steal from you at a blink of an eye. I would discourage anyone to attempt any public filming like you have in public spaces. I wish you the best of luck you appear to be a genuinely nice and well meaning man.

If your work in Colombia required you to have a US Embassy country clearance to work there you were restricted from getting any closer than 50 miles from th3 Venezuelan border. That mean’s Cucuta was off limits and still is.

Cucuta is a great city, I live there most of the year, and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Amazing history, fantastic food, and the nicest people. Like anywhere else in the world, there are places you shouldn't go unless you have locals with you, but overall, Cucuta is a safe and exciting city. Come to my neighborhood Los Cabos and enjoy the many great restaurants and bars. I ❤ Cucuta

Not all of colombia is like that. My friends in rio negro and medellin alway are careful where they choose to take me. The Venezuelans that have gone to colombia are a mixed bunch . Some are good and some are not. My friends in rio negro have to deal with the ladrones.

I live in Chia , Colombia. The one thing missing is the neon sign on the guys forehead flashing “ I’m an idiot, Come rob and kidnap me!” Cucuta is a border city with Venezuela and is overrun by desperate Venezuelans. The city is loaded with criminal gangs who are ordered to rob and steal. This guy made himself a soft target just by the way he looks. I can say without question he was being followed and observed the entire time he was walking around being loud, with cameras or phone exposed. If he got out without any problems he was very very lucky. I haven’t even mentioned the Colombian criminals! There’s reasons many embassies forbid any assigned citizens that work in Colombia from getting any closer than 50 miles of the Venezuelan border. I
