Only problems I’ve found with the plug in as follows Pures with high melee stats; for example, 99 range 1 def 99 magic will come up as a magic bot/pvm ranged bot If a player has a couple of million xp in a certain combat stat and not others, with significant pvm monster kills; they can sometimes come up as maybe 5% pvm bot based on that skill. For example 104 ranged based on runelite level system, other combat stats 99 and zulrah kc 405 will come up as pvm ranging bot by 6%.. even though that is not the case If an obvious grand exchange standing bot, enchanting, fletching, herb cleaning ect ect.. has marginal stats won’t be detected. For example; 74 mage, 66 fletching, 82 herblore and pretty much no other stats, won’t come up on bot detection system Glad to help Old school RuneScape name 07james, let’s get rid of the bots

This video and plug-in looks amazing! There is one thing I would like to mention though, the percentages the plug-in presents are NOT the chance of that account being a bot or not. It is the CONFIDENCE level of the plugin that the account is a bot or not. I feel that this is an important distinction to make, as without it it could cause some witch hunts and other issues with potential false positives.

So, what's your point? The same works the other way around as well, where there are supervillains, there will be superheroes. And of course this is like "canon and walls". That's basically how cryptography works lmao. Someone will crack a hash someday, and then there will be people developing a newer hash that is harder to crack with the present tools. That's how things always have been. I am aware that some botters here are getting triggered hard over this, but that's how it is. Deal with it and play a different game if you don't like the grind.

@@ikidu1102 I think you misunderstand my comment. I am a neutral party in all of this. I don't play Runescape anymore, as the grind became unappealing to me. However, I think Oldschool Runescape is less of a game and more of a social experiment of sorts, at this point. I, personally, enjoy following the bot vs anti-bot content. It's very interesting seeing the elements that go into both sides. It's very much like a comic, or manga, at this point. I enjoy making predictions about the "future" chapters, so to say. But I do believe, ultimately, that in the end this plugin will become one of the strongest tools in botters toolkits. Jagex gets by, by *not* revealing their detection methods and (potentially) good natured players have unveiled something that will help pin point suspicious behavior. Botters will have free reign to play around with this system, and code according to its detection capabilities. Not to mention the amount of reports it sends in may cause an issue on Jagex's end, having to review each report. But this I am uncertain about.

Yeah the plugin's confidence rating isn't perfect. A lot of alts and oddly leveled accounts will be picked up as bots. But when Jagex gets their hands on the lists, they have the tools to know they're just alts.

The solution should be that Bot detection should be done adequately by Jagex, if they agree to ban after a "review" of a report, then their bot detection isn't doing anything.

Tbh this plugin could be developed by botters themselves to go after the competition. It's easily possible that they have farms running where the parameters aren't being looked at. Basically recruit everyone else to hunt your own competition for you. Seems like a low chance that this is the case but with so much money involved I wouldn't put it past people being this clever.

The sad thing about bots is that Jagex very well knows they generate a shitload of money to them. They inflate player amounts which gives the game more visibility, they buy bonds from GE which jack up the prices so real players are more incentivized to buy bonds and sell them for gp and just overall make the game look active to a new player so they're more inclined to stay and even try the game in the first place since it pops up in every " top 10 mmo " list out there. When you combine that with the undeniable fact that bots are largely responsible for the games economy, Jagex isn't ever going to put a lot of effort into banning them. From a business perspective it just doesn't make sense to get rid off them all. Overnight bot purge would inflate the prices of nearly everything so much that the average player could never afford to buy anything and the economy would be a complete mess for long time if not indefinitely. Sure there's a few outliers who like to swim against the stream and honestly think that the game would be better overall without bots, but in reality at this point the game has become dependant of them.

I love using runelite but almost every major problem stems from 3rd party clients they really need to make it so you require a hash or player id from a vanilla client to connect to the server to give themselves any chance which means they need to update their client. It is easier than they are making it.

Used to detect option on my both accounts. It's funny how it shows its magic_bot 0.63% and PVM_ranged_bot 0.23% even I got LVL 1 magic and ranged :D

I remember finding either a bot farm or gold farm in the watch tower quest ogre cave for the blue dragons there while doing slayer on an area restricted account, everyone i saw had similar names, gear, and levels with minor variance including character appearance and god dhide color, i remember the plugin showing no indication that it thought they were bots despite them basically just having the stats to do the quest and the combat style they were using, reported all of them and marked as high potential ranged pvm bots

This plugin is awesome but I've seen it quite a few times get it crazy wrong. For instance, I got my cousin into it, I can guarantee that guy doesn't bot lol, new to pc altogether. I used the plugin to look up my acct, it said "96% real player 1% pvm melee bot" I'm assuming it's because my combat is maxed, and my other skills are like 60-80s? idk but i don't think this formula is exactly good for "predicting bots" because, more than likely. If someone was to make a skiller, and train one skill to 99 and ignore other skills im fairly certain this plugin would say it's a high chance to be a bot even when it's not.

These VPN companies prey on ignorance. Being audited by pwc is the silliest selling point I've ever heard. Pretty much every mid to large sized firm will be audited by them or another Big 4 company. Not a criticism of Colonello, but I'm finding these sponsored ad reads on KZbin becoming increasingly predatory. Targeting children and those with limited life experience seems to be their MO lately.

I remember when bots first in about 20 years ago. Players would bot hill giants for 99 str ,att and def. I have never had any respect for people who bot. It acaully tells you alot about the actual player. To be honest osrs isnt even worth playing anymore becouse there is absolutely nothing a new player can do that hasnt already been done

Jagex removed Bounty Hunter as a "Fix" to the bot problem. Funny to see that was just sweeping the dirt under the rug.

How many bots did you have ro report to get pmod status? I was sitting at world 350 and there was 70+ bots smithing at edgeville and reported probably around 50-60 of them

Their selection process is different for everyone. If I remember correctly they assign pmod based on how you act in-game, accurate reports, and a few other things

Just to clarify, I have never botted. I've been afk'ing a lot to train my melee stats to 99 and the detector says that my account is ~60% a pvm bot and even around 20% real player. Will this affect me?

You shouldn't have anything to actually worry about it :) The detector isn't perfect and is at about 80% accuracy.

Interesting... So for example, my alt that is JUST a Runecrafter, with no other skills, may be detected as a bot? Because it seems like the algorithm for detection is based on the average stats?

@@ColonelloRS I'm not quite sure how I feel about it. Part of me welcomes it, if it helps weed out botters and keep the game healthy. However with Jagex's horrendous customer service, I feel recovering an account that receives an accidental ban to be nigh impossible. But I'm sure Jagex is doing their due diligence to comb through all of the potential bot accounts, watching over them, and making the decision based upon their findings.

Hey dude there's this wild conspiracy theory that I'm pretty sure is pretty legitimate about RuneScape. It's the fact that RuneScape is an elaborate money laundering scheme. There's a lot of proof already that there's a lot of sketchy s*** that happens in game. Jagex doesn't really seem to care too much about issues unless they are brought up by the Reddit. The player base has been very vocal about the dual arena and how it should not be in game because it is legitimately gambling. RuneScape gold has a real world value. But the thing is there's so many pot farms and you have people in Venezuela literally playing this game as a job but who's buying all this gold ? Where does all this gold go to ? That's when the money laundering aspect comes in. You can pretty much hide thousands if not millions of dollars in RuneScape gold. Spread out amongst multiple mule accounts and whatnot. What else would be a good way to hide Money In plain sight? What do you think jagex doesn't care ? All they see is consistent revenue and they're not going to do anything to stop that. RuneScape wasn't an initially created as a scheme but it was turned into one.

What would happen if you make a new account skillet grinding for the first 99 being fm before anything so you will get tagged and banned as bot? For grinding one skill nonstop or maybe as an iron man

The plug-in doesn't ban you. It just register and reports your entire activity to jagex.

And then jagex checks your acc and sees latency in clicks, misclicks, actual play Times and chat logs.. sees you are real and no worries
