In Palestine, the law has been used as a tool of oppression to legitimize and advance the dispossession of the Palestinian people for more than a century. From the theft of Palestinian land by legal mechanisms to the non-recognition of Palestinians as a people with the inalienable right of self-determination, the law is yet another weapon wielded against the Palestinian people by Israel and its patrons. Activist, attorney, and Rutgers University professor Noura Erakat joins The Chris Hedges Report to discuss the use of lawfare against Palestine and her new book, Justice for Some: Law and the Question of Palestine.

1000% in agreement with each word. Both wonderful educators in this catasthrope and history of 🇵🇸. Palestine should be one country, Israel be the capital, and everyone lives free without the oppression, and this racism the Israeli government has brainwashed Jewish people with. About Israeli Zionist Jews must understand, "Waving the star of David does NOT mean you represent The LORD!" All can live freely under one sky. May Allāh open Israeli heart to know Palestinians are their closest brothers and sisters.

Regarding provocation and true statements for a book. Would you consider writing a book for me? I would not ask for any payment whatsoever. I would pay for publication. I was instructed to find someone to help me do that? The most important aspect will be in support of the Middle East countries. When Noura said that the Israelis, (I call them vigilante settlers; she uses settler vigilantes, which love) are now a society that's not just "quasi-okay with an apartheid racist regime...but literally avid supporters of genocide as a right," that hit my gut and heart as the most frightening thing of all. I've watched old settler videos when they were a minority of Israel's Jews. Today, they're fascists, a larger minority that's armed, in politics, in the military. I'm literally sickened by their behavior against the Palestinians and what they do to their own. Different groups of radicals, non to super fanatic religious, who abuse their own, so how can they possibly love anyone else? I studied this before, but since Oct 7th, I haven't missed one day or one scholarly video or doc (including by Muslims) on this horrific genocide. It's affected me deeply, and I know I'm not alone. My deepest thanks & blessings to you both got for this fascinating yet tragic discussion.

There are two million Arab citizens of Israel. There are no Jewish citizens of Jordan (which was originally part of Mandate Palestine), Gaza, or the Palestinian Authority. Who has apartheid?
@Sabreur23
@Sabreur23 3 ай бұрын
@benqurayza7872 Arab "citizens" of Israel have no civil liberties whatsoever: no right to vote, no right to due process, not even a right to freedom of movement (the existence of "sterile roads," for example). Basing these rights exclusively on ethnicity is, by definition, an apartheid system.
@NuisanceMan
@NuisanceMan 2 ай бұрын
@@benqurayza7872 I don't quite get your point. Are you saying that the non-presence of Jews in Jordan is apartheid? Jews don't want to live in Jordan, though perhaps a few would if Israel ruled it. Apartheid means the separation of peoples within one nation with one people dominating the other(s).

Your people in America, are you referring to the Jewish people?. Look up the history of what happened in Judaea in 70ad. . When the Romans destroyed Jerusalem If you ever go to Rome there’s the Arch of Titus, that commemorates that war. And depicts the riches that were plundered,including the menorah that was taken from the Temple in Jerusalem. In 132ad. After an uprising the Romans killed thousands of jews, took hundreds to Rome as slaves and a lot were scattered in surrounding countries. Rome than changed the name Judaea, to Palestina Capitolina Josephus the Jewish historian,would be a good source for you to read. God always said that the time would come for the jews to go back to their home land. I know it’s not a popular thing to say. I don’t think that God had this way in mind though Isaiah 66:8 shall a nation be born in one day?For as soon as Zion was in labour,She gave birth to her children Zion = high places, another name for Jerusalem, city of God. But there was always a remnant left in Judaea, during the Ottoman occupation, jews,Christians,and Muslims lived in peace. Until evil reared it’s ugly face

@@Brigidz- I don't know about her family, but some of the families I grew up with, Yes. Not only was it painfully traumatic to speak about and to confront, but it was difficult to contextualize everything that happened, why it happened, and all the different nuanced politics of what played into everything. The only acceptable way to speak about our past was to say "yes it happened, but we were not erased. We're still fighting and we will all return to the homeland". They didn't want to educate us too deeply about the history, bc they didn't want to impart on us a sense of loss, they didn't want to accept that framing at all. They simply wanted the language, with which we coped as a diaspora, to be one of hope.

A two tiered system of governance, also known as apartheid is, and has been the experience of the untouchables in East Indian society’s caste system for three thousand years. This isn’t new. It’s just a new look at an old model of governance. The book ‘Caste: The origins of our discontent’ looks at the similarities between that system, the centuries of American slavery and the German holocaust; all of which were two tiered systems that considered those in the lower tier to be less than human. These are the days when the threads that connect the tapestry of history are being pulled together for us all to see what connects it and why it seems that history keeps going through periods of violence that people of good faith keep trying to avoid, and their efforts keep being taken advantage of by people of bad faith.

Im holding onto prior to Palmerston 1840, Turkeys land registry, and current demands of billions of global populace to assign a declaration to UN rescinding resolutions no longer fitting for human consumption. In terms of war, israel is finished and the world will be glad. The idea of persons exceptionalism in this regard is absurd. The political arm of Palestinian Hamas, must reengineer a Statement of State of Israel. Those countries complicit to its detriment dont get to use veto rights which are also abhorrent.

yes, she is right about the PLO. Could say that the very confusing way it infolded from before WWII and the displacement of so many traumatised groups near by was not facilitating a united 'governemental' body/spirit instead of a political party. Hamas, a different generation understod that later. But then No vision, no will, no representation, the PLO-shadow kept to its image, quislings. There had been an article of Diplo, which considered the PLO thrown out of countries one after the other bc it "interfered" with the host's politics, aid but no help?, demands or influence?

However, after learning many of the deaths of Israelis on October 7 were caused by Israelis and seeing Israel’s response in Gaza and learning the history of Britain’s decision to essentially colonize Palestine with Israelis, my position is now in support of the Palestinians who are the legitimate indigenous people of Palestine. What is being done by the West in support of Israel’s apparent genocide is despicable. Many thanks for this video and many others who have provided the truth.

Great interview; insight and review of the Palestinian struggle for sovereignty and independence. As someone of Armenian background, I understand and appreciate the hurdles and pitfalls (traps even) that the Palestinian people and their leadership (genuine ones as well as those who clearly have betrayed the cause) have faced throughout their history but, more specifically, since 1948. The parallel between these two people and their struggle is very clear and vivid; the backdrop of the Ottoman Empire breaking up, mandates assumed by various colonial powers and the ensuing future of the architecture of the region--promises made, promises broken. It is noteworthy to mention that in September of 2023, under the pretext of fighting against"terrorism," Azerbaijan launched an all-out attack against the civilian population of Nagorno-Karabagh following 9 months of total blockade of the enclave, and by the months end the entire ethnic Armenian population fled the region that was home to them for milleniums--call it ethnic cleansing, or call it genocide. Fastforward to October 7th, in the aftermath of Hamas' attack, an entire civilian population, have been subjected to total subjugation that had been implemented for the past 17 years, only now with clear license to kill 27,000+, mame 65,000+ and displace 2,200,000+ people! Obviously, the sheer number of Palestinians of Gaza will affect the outcome, but to what extent it is unclear.

PHILOSOPHY LOVE IS THE SOURCE -PaulTeich-©️10/31/2023 This poem is about talking to God about love Love is the source of all things You are the source of all things We can feel your love Can you feel ours? We can see examples of your power Can you see ours? Are ours destruction or planting flowers? How do you view us from your ivory tower? What keeps evil at Bay? Is it a spell and Apple and leaf of bay? Is it an old-fashioned ruler who thinks she is A Bey? Or is it the simple acts of simple people taking care of each other day by day? You have given us love to turn Earth into Eden You let us know we were without true gnosis with the Apple Adam had eaten Letting us know we get intrinsic worth from giving a rib and not from beating Please take away indifference, give us peace and make us care if everyone is eating Love is the source Whether it comes from you or me, love takes us to heaven on a winged horse May peace, love and poetry, save the world!!!
