In another words they were printed as Provisionals until the gov could print Australian stamps

Hi Jeff. Interesting about the forming of Australia in 1901, and that it took 12 years before the first Australia stamp was issued. Meanwhile, after 1901, NSW still issuing stamps in 1908. Is Australia a complex area to collect, when you take the colonial part with it? Did all states issue their own stamps? Sorry, I know so little about Australia, hence why your channel is so useful and wonderful! Thanks for the video!

why didn't they check the centering of the cutting of the perf's...a little to the left and a little down would have been the answer

Hi Roger - not sure - but I suppose they did their best for the equipment they had in the 1800’s and early 1900’s. The King George the V and V1 stamps that took over had all sorts of variants and even different shades of ink because of having to source different ink suppliers around the world due to WW2
