Racking my brain, cannot ever remember having a cocktail that mixed rye and rum but it sounds good so this is being added to the agenda. One riff (really just a variation) on an Old Fashioned is to use maple syrup instead of sugar (or simple syrup) and add a barspoon of orange liqueur, such as dry curaçao or Grand Marnier.

Same, that’s why this one really caught my eye! These are my favourite two spirits and they really work so well together. I’m planning to try some variants on other drinks with this split.
