CRI is longer the applicable rating for LEDs. Recently, The Academy created the SSI rating system that more accurate. The new Sekonic color meter (featured in this video) can meter in SSI.

The tutorials are so useful. Half way into this video, I was like why do we keep balancing light to neutral colours, until I watched the remaining. Totally agree on the creative lighting.

I love your videos so much. You are one of the reasons I'm goint to study cinematography next semester. But one thing about it always turns me down, and that is exactly color, not because I don't like it, but because its very hard for me to fully understand it being colorblind.
@kinetek28815 жыл бұрын
I used to direct and DOP for a creative director from Saatchi And Saatchi. He was known for his incredible stylistic grading. We won many awards together including Cannes. Towards the end of his time as creative director he told me he was completely color blind, he just graded what looked good to him and ignored the advice from others. He also told me Picasso and van Gogh were both color blind. Don't know if that was true. But you go for it, it may be what makes you different from everyone else.

@@kinetek2881 Thank you very much for your awnser. I've been meaning to thank you since you responded me but didn't got time really, anyway again thank you for the amazing content, it's a privilegy to have your little classes to watch. And I'm going to that class and experiment the hell out of colors.

@kinetek - love your content and this video is great. I only have one issue - was it sponsored by Aputure? You feature the Aputure AL-MC RGB and that's a completely new light. I'd just prefer if you mentioned any sponsorships or collaborations with brands at the beginning, otherwise I feel I'm being mugged off.
