You guys should do a three marker challenge, and pick three colours blindly. And then base a drawing on what Colin says the colours are, but you have to use the ones you've chosen. So like, Steph will close her eyes and pick three, and before she opens her eyes, get Adam to get Colin to say what colours he thinks they are. Then put the markers aside without Steph seeing them, until she's done her pencil drawing. All so that she isn't influenced by the actual colours at all. Then she colours it in with her chosen colours. Have her do the same for Adam.

It's hard to put into words, but it's the level of saturation. Grey blue is more on the blue side, and blue grey is more on the grey side

@@aldoink I'm so glad someone else understands the difference between double color names. It's one of my petpeeves when someone says a double color name and it's inverse are the same thing. Even when I was in elementary school and coloring, it would bug me to no end when my older cousins or even adults would tell me that green blue and blue green, or orange red and red orange were the same thing and that it didn't matter which crayon they gave me. They're two entirely different colors, of course it matters.

I think the app is picking up the colors of the shadows. Like on the haunter it says "dark gray blue", that's kind of the shadow color

That's what I was thinking too ! At one point in the video, you could see that the focus point kept hopping around the objects, so some colour guesses were darker than others because they were shadows.

There is a little difference between blue-gray and gray-blue (same for blue-green and green-blue, red-violet and violet-red, etc). Blue-gray is a gray with a lot of blue tone in it, and gray-blue is a blue with a lot of gray in it. The first color is the tone and the second color is the base color. 😊

There actually is a difference between “grey blue” and “blue grey”. At least with Crayolas colors. If it has that two colors in their name, the shade is closer to the second named color. So “grey blue” is more blue than grey.

The colour is darker with the copics because you went over them multiple times and completely saturated the paper. If you did one even layer the colour would match the lid. I use them all the time and learnt this because I layer when I want to shade or add shadow with the same colour. Love you guys 💗

My old art teacher actually told me the reason behind colors like grey-blue and blue-grey. The color that is said first is the stronger color. Like on green-yellow and yellow-green. One is going to be more green and the other will have a more yellowish tint.

Just because I'm interested, Adam should go outside with his EnChroma glasses on and then try to sort crayons, colored pencils, and/or markers into groups by color. Just to see how well the EnChroma glasses work. You might even have him try to sort them first without the glasses, and then see if he wants to change things around after putting them on.

At 7:50 I literally stopped the video and said aloud “that’s so crazy” without even thinking. The fact that the lil guinea pig was the first one he messed up on, but then he got the bow right? It’s just so insane because that meant he saw that light blue and pink as similar as we see the light pink and slightly darker pink! And that’s so crazy!
