We have white cabinets, trim and backsplash. We decided tonight to put moth wing as our wall color. Our floors are dark brown and the kitchen has a lot of windows.

I have alot of brown and gold in my home (walls are macadamia) and wanted to introduce more greige. I decided to paint my upper cabinets agreeable gray and the lower cabinets felted wool. I really love this look. I have tan/brown/dark grey swirled tiles in the kitchen which will be covered with gray/cream throw rugs, and my countertop is the venetian granite from the early 2000s. My backsplash is a cream and gold/grey tuscan looking tiles. Eventually, (a few years down the road) i'm going to get rid of the tiles and run the dark brown hardwoods thru the kitchen and change out the old granite to a lighter creamy colored quartz. All of my trim is dover white. Now to my question. My problem is I started painting the walls amazing gray, however, because the kitchen faces north, the amazing gray starts to lean a little bluish which I'm not crazy about. Would moth wing instead of agreeable gray work on my walls? How does it look with north and east facing windows?

We also love a combination of both gray and brown tones! I would say that "Amazing Gray" on your walls is probably going to feel... flat (for lack of a better word)... like it can't decide if it wants to be gray or step into being 'greige'. Since you already have both colors in the space, I would adjust to something that's definitely a truer greige... and Moth Wing is on the right track! However, with your cabinets being Agreeable Gray- MW might feel a little too 'brown' when partnered with a good amount of gray. Have you looked at "Taupe Tone"? See how you feel about that one! It will be more of the 'right' greige to allow both cool and warm undertones to play with the rest of your palette in the effects of the natural light. It's a good balance of brown and gray when both colors are prevalent in the space!

Do you think this color goes with White Duck and warm stone on an exterior? Also would a garage painted this color look nice surrounded by warm stone?

Hey Chris- you mean the actual color "Warm Stone"? You're not just describing your actual stone, right? :) And is the White Duck your siding? Warm Stone is trim? And Moth Wing for accents?

@@TheChrismarinucci Sure. Moth Wing is a great 'griege' that will tie in with most brick/stone accents. It is a little more on the "subtle" side, so depending on how "strong" your stone looks (jagged edges, large shapes, deep mortar color, etc).. you might want to consider going just a little deeper so that the color doesn't get 'overwhelmed' being next to the stone! Funny enough, there is a color called "Warm Stone" that might work well if you want to try that one. There's not a huge jump from Moth Wing to Warm Stone, but it would be enough to feel a little more "weighty" in terms of color proportions.

What do you mean by wood pairing tone? Like it goes good with a darker colored wood trim?

We just mean that it's a similar shade to the hues found in natural wood components...especially if the wood has variation throughout it with multiple depths and/or undertones (like flooring). So a color like Moth Wing not only pairs well with existing wood elements (for example: trim), but it can also 'allude' to wood where you might want the feeling of wood...but in a paint color. Hope that helps!
