Cine Like d is the same look like Vlog (after when you put a 709Lut on Vlog in Post). BUT: With Vlog, you can change the exposure in Post. With Cinelike D you must exposure correct on Set.

Thank you for the tips on this! Coming from Leica (stills) trying my lenses with S5II???X, dont always want to shoot with log.... appreciated!

This was very helpful. Thanks. I want to get my shots of surfing better. Also can you talk about exposing Cinelike-D?
@MatthewDangyou Жыл бұрын
It’s been a minute since I’ve shot in Cinelike d but normally I would expose 0 stops and use false colors on an external monitor

anyone know where I can get the CineD lut to 709. The groundcontrol link isnt working anymore
@soundmoddinglawyer10 ай бұрын
The CineD is a display not a log, you already recorded in a rec 709 format

thanks for the video, this was really helpful, however, the the Cinelike D to Rec 709 Lut link doesn't seem to work anymore could you please fix this?

Oh the new link is payhip.com/matthewdangyou

What is the point to decrease contrast and saturation in camera, but encrease it in post processing? Each post processing change shifts colors and midtones and ad noise to the image, so whats the point?

Great vid! I’m looking to add a G80 to my set up of Lumix G9, LUMIX S5 and Lumix S1, shooting all in cinelike D. Yeah I agree with your approach to presenting to your videos - keep it natural and real, I try and do the same.
@MatthewDangyou2 жыл бұрын
Dude that is awesome! I actually have another video coming out on how to color grade Cinelike d. Just a little more updated video, but if you watch how to color grease Vlog l. It is basically the same way I color grade it here but with my Cinelike d conversion lut.

Is MOV better quality than MP4 on G9?
@MatthewDangyou3 жыл бұрын
MOV is a higher quality format that does take up more space and room. MP4 is a more compressed video format with smaller size files.
@lisamona34013 жыл бұрын
@@MatthewDangyou Which one do you use?
@MatthewDangyou3 жыл бұрын
@@lisamona3401 I personally use MOV when recording video on the Panasonic G9, but depending on where I plan to have the final video be exported, I tend to export MP4 with my video files still being MOV to get the most quality possible.

@@MatthewDangyou What is 1min of 4K mov video size?
@MatthewDangyou3 жыл бұрын
@@lisamona3401 not exactly sure my guess is around 1.2gb probably this video here was around 9 minutes and was 9.6 gbs I believe on the raw files

how do you expose? for 0 or a bit to the right?
@MatthewDangyou Жыл бұрын
Mostly to zero but sometimes a bit to the right. Really depends where the project is going. Something to consider when grading is a lot of people will watch the video on different screens that are not color accurate

Shouldn’t you first convert CineD to Rec 709 in davinci (or whatever NLE you are using)?
@MatthewDangyou2 жыл бұрын
Yes you can, working with some professional colorist some do and some don’t! I actually in my newer more recent work flow use a my own converter but only at like 50-60% power
@alexwr2 ай бұрын
CineD is already Rec709, so no conversion is needed. It's just a flatter image, it's not a different colour space or anything like that!

Cinelike sucks. Why you dont talk anything about the horrible noise on every image in good condition of light? Sorry for my english. Thank u!
@QueQualityyАй бұрын
You're getting rid of it when color grading and properly setting contrast in post. You can also bring noise reduction slider to right for less noisy image by cost of sharpness
