Oh my god, this will be fun! 😅😅 I have A LOT of seeds and all of them comes with A LOT of colors.. I’m doing my whole garden this year.. almost.. I’m thinking of “rooms” and how you walk in to different “garden rooms”.. My question is.. Would it be so bad if my so called rooms have different color palettes.. or would it look wrong? ❤️❤️❤️

It's tricky to do in a small residential space. But it's your garden so why not try it. Just be sure there's a clear division between the rooms / spaces using walls or other structures.

I want to do different color sections in my garden because I can’t think of a color I don’t like. I’m trying to figure out how to transition from one color to another in a pleasing not jarring way. I may end up making separate beds for each and not planting offending colors to close together. Right now I think I’m just going to be looking for plants in my color choice and trying to group them together. It’s a new project and Lord willing I will be able to complete it before I go home.🌺💚🙃

Amy, I love orange and Purple together. Not a huge yellow fan. My yellows are all either Amber or a very pale yellow lily. I love the pansy’s that are purple and orange. Can you use that opposite? Or is it just me that loves purple and orange?

Sure you can. I use purple and amber a lot.. Amber is kind of a yellowish orange color.

Great information, Thoroughly explained. How do you feel about joining analogous groups in a smooth transition like starting at yellow in direction of orange towards blue?

Sure. Usually I use a split complimentary color scheme. So 3 colors next to each other on the color wheel combined with the color opposite those 3. You could try to do what you're saying but it would be really difficult unless you had lots and lots of space and were able to find flowers that all bloomed at the same time of year to give you that gradient look. That's easier said than done but depending on your growing zone, with some planning and research, you could make it happen.

Any recommendations on what to plant in front of a cherry red double knock out bush, that’s used as the back drop against a red brick house? I was thinking of purple Daydream Loropetalum but not sure how it would turn out. I’m on the hunt for a small evergreen shrub that might look good with it. Any insight is appreciated!

I have a question. My son loves red crape Myrtle trees. What colors can be paired with this? I know green is the opposite so that’s one but what other colors could be used without an overload of color choices?

It's a great video but I'm still confused about how to including white flowers like Daysies or very dark flowers like chocolate cosmos :(

Colors are on a spectrum of what's called TINTS and SHADES. Tints are lighter versions of a color (more white added to the color). Shades are darker versions of a color (more black added to it). So something like a chocolate cosmo would be a SHADE of one of the primary colors. Probably magenta?

Yes shade gardens can be more difficult but there are definitely options for color. You'll have to rely on foliage. I have a shade garden that uses burgundy leafed plants and chartreuse foliage together and that looks really pretty. 😊

Technically you can plant any time of year but it's much less stressful for plants if you do it in the spring or fall. So I would wait if you can unless you want to water a lot and baby them 😊

You might be able to get the colors you are looking for by planting spring bulbs - if the trees around the area loose their leaves in the winter and therefore create more sun. And a great plant for foliage colors is Heuchera - they come in a variety of colors and are cold hardy.

Those are red tulips with the euphorbia; not roses at 6:50ish....
