I remember singing in All State here in Georgia. The feeling you get in that very first warm up on day one rehearsal.....when you hear that harmony....your skin tingles, your spine shivers, your eyes water. You truly feel the music. You can't help but get emotional. You are with your people and you are making the notes come to life. What an absolutely beautiful thing to be a part of! This choir is top notch and that fortissimo at 1min 30sec........ BEAUTIFUL!

During the summer of 1969, my high school choir went to Europe for three weeks. One of those weeks ( early August ) was spent in Freiburg, Germany participating in an international choirfest. There were choirs from Germany, Switzerland, France, and us, the kids from the United States. I had a working knowledge of German, so that was quite useful. However, most of us could not converse. But, we could all sing together so beautifully . To this day I cherish that experience. To the Colorado choir I offer this: Cherish what you do. While we're in the coronavirus crisis, you have added joy to a troubled world. May God bless.
@mistakay90194 жыл бұрын
Did you also get your first real six string? I have a feeling you would of played it til your fingers bled?
@bcgrittner4 жыл бұрын
Strange you should ask. I actually started playing my older brother's 4-string tenor guitar when I was 10. My father had a 6-string I often tried to play, but I found it a bit large and hard to handle. About that same time my parents gave me a nice wooden ukulele, which I still have 58 years later. In my younger days I practiced until my fingers got sore, but not bloody. Currently, I have a six string and a twelve string, but I never seem to have a great deal of time to practice. My church choir is my fall-back these days, but meeting on Zoom is a little strange. We're working with a new program called SongAlong, but it is far from perfect. Thanks for asking about my past musical interests. And, one more thing - my elementary school music teacher is still around. She is 88, and still sharp as a tack. We have stayed in touch over the years. I owe her so much.
