On the template does it show the airplane on it ? And on the synthetic vision I couldn't hear it but does it call out after 500 down to 20? Again thanks again for sharing, what a beautiful aircraft....
@speedomars4 жыл бұрын
The (MFD) shows the aircraft flying over a sectional, an Instrument plate or the moving map. Note the half arc in front of the plane...that is the calculated point at which the plane will achieve the altitude bugged. Synthetic vision is on the PFD.

can you share some info in regards to what setup you have with the cameras and audio syncing , are you using Garmin verb via bluetooth on the GMA 350C to sync audio ?

The profile view has been there since the G5, possibly before. Georeferenced charts have also been there in older Cirrus planes. Usr waypoints are tricky. You can define them on Garmin Pilot on the tablet and synch them via Flightstream but you can't delete them on the tablet and synch them out of the G1000. They have to be deleted on the G1000 by hand. The altitude warning happens of course because you had the ALT bug set higher than your descent into the airport. You can twist it to field elevation if you dont want that warning. The synthetic vision is not, of course, to be used as a actual reference of anything on the ground or runway. It has lawyer warnings that they are suggestive. Like terrain mapping for example.
@ColinPrenger5 жыл бұрын
Yes, the profile view has, but we didn't show completely the VSD function which is new to the G6. For the synthetic vision, it is a fantastic reference for multiple items: traffic awareness, terrain awareness, and on an instrument approach in IMC you can see a synthetic runway to improve your situational awareness.
@speedomars4 жыл бұрын
@@ColinPrenger The profile view of the terrain is in the G5, so are winds aloft. All the elements shown, moving map, synthetic vision, instrument plates with georeferencing are also in the G5.
@MikeKobb4 жыл бұрын
@@speedomars I own a G5, but have also flown in a G6. As Colin says, the G6 adds the "vertical situation display", which not only shows you the profile, but also your projected flight path based on your VNAV setup or your current descent. It's a nice addition, especially on an approach. The other thing that is not in the G5 is the ability to split the MFD and display the plate plus other information. Overall, the G6 has a lot of nice evolutionary improvements, especially the much faster performance for things like panning and zooming. I couldn't justify the additional expense over the G5 (~$100k price bump on the used market for comparable planes comparing last year of G5 to first year of G6) but for those who do buy the G6, they'll definitely have a sweet setup.
@speedomars4 жыл бұрын
@@MikeKobb There is a vertical situation display in the G5 for terrain and it shows the flight path in relation to terrain. There is also VNAV profile and flight paths shown. And there is the arc that shows when you will reach the VNAV altitudes. You can display plates on the MFD with georeferencing, not sure what a split screen display offers since its already difficult to see the text on a plate in full screen overlay. The NXi has faster processors. But there are no revolutionary changes between G5 and G6. Cirrus does that on purpose. You note the $100k price bump...and THAT is the most significant thing between the G5 and G6. These lights and incresed processor speeds and change in the keyboard layout do not justify that price hike. But Cirrus did me a solid because not only did they offer Cirrus owners free transition training when selling their planes, but they made the G5 more valuable since getting into a G6 costs so much more.

"Betty?" Good one. I bet that was IRT the (Perspective?) audio voice calling out "Altitude" on the base leg (time hack 6:04). There's some interesting history on Betty and her colleagues at Wikipedia ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitching_Betty ).

Yup, that's what some Cirrus drivers call her. She does all sorts of call outs for us. Including now she calls out 600' AGL for the CAPS altitude.

Sure. You can search on youtube for Cirrus trans-Atlantic flights. They follower the great circle route which crosses into Canada, Greenland, Iceland, Scotland and then into Europe.
