Those of us who’ve been watching Coach Prime since Jackson State and even prior to, knew what was going to happen. He took over in the covid year-shortened season and then won back to back SWAC Championships. He flipped the # 1 player in the nation (Travis Hunter) from Florida State to an HBCU in Jackson, Mississippi. The man won a championship while dealing with blood clots, having an amputation. Helping the city during a water crisis, getting any upgrades that he could for the team, etc and dealing with all the criticism he got from other coaches at the time in the HBCU ranks. Watch a legend work to achieve his biggest and most current goal in life which is to win a national championship. HOF player with 2 rings and a national championship title as a head coach.

It's about how they rank recruits. The traditional way is a massive haul of 4 n 5 stars. The more of them you have, the higher your recruiting rank. Colorado does not follow that formula. Their recruiting is more targeted (using hs n portal) So their ranking will always be misleading.

What was that reporter's name again? Honestly, it doesn't even matter because they are currently, 7-2 and holding down second place in the Big 12. If you really break it down, 2023 has been a solid year when you check the stats. Colorado dropped 6 games by 12 points or less, and they were working with one of the weakest defenses in football, all while piecing together a team in just a few months. Their offense is pretty much the same, but the real game-changer has been the tough guys he brought in for the trenches. They're blocking way better now and going after the quarterback like a pack of wild animals.

Throughout the season, Colorado has gotten better. I think getting better each game is a common attribute good teams always seem to share. Give Travis Hunter the Heisman. His contributions to his team's success via his individual accomplishments are far too great. It's the same reason Woodson, not Manning, won the Heisman, but magnified beyond any logical argument. Although Colorado still lacks serious depth in the trenches, they are still able to compete with a handful of supreme athletes. As we all know, great players make great coaches.

It's not the best story, Indiana is, they actually play in a Power 2 conference, have started 10-0, and have an opportunity to beat Ohio State. The Big 12 a good G5 conference now. Go watch B12 games and look at obvious passing situations, count how many times B12 edges can run the arc/ bend the edge, it almost never happens. Then watch an SEC/B10 game, and you see players doing this all the time. The talent gap is immense.

Are they a great story? Or are they something we were given in the 70s and told was great? Is Colorado better? Or did Colorado join a weaker conference, and we just acept that they are better because of this? They kind of look like the same team, just playing against worse competition to me. The Big12 is kind of garbage compared to everyone else. Is Colorado better, or is the Big12 just the worse? I'd put the B12 behind the ACC.
