FYI, All trails has it labeled Halfmoon Gulch, Trailsoffroad it's Halfmoon Creek, on the National Geographic map it's Halfmoon or road 110/110J. Tons of campsite around the trail head to Mt. Elbert. Most cars can get to Mt. Elbert trail head. The second trail head for Mt. Massive you would need a high clearance 4wd and expect some potential damage if you don't have clear wheel placement. Going left to the 110J the major obstacle is known as Iron Mike, definitely have rock sliders for that one.

As someone who owns an off-road vehicle (4Runner) and a built muscle car, it’s really funny how most off-road enthusiasts really known little about cars in general, with exceptions of course. But essentially it comes down to “I upgraded those 3 things, that’s my epic build.” But third of it is just cosmetic, the other third is stupid lights that they never use , and only about one or two things are actually functional upgrades.

Wow. Awesome trip with gorgeous scenery. Query bout your rig. Im looking into my next one and 4Runner on the short list. But I too would want to get about another inch or two of body ground clearance and add about half to 3/4 inch lift to the pumpkin. So was thinking like a 1.5-2 in lift in roughly 33 in Cooper Discoverer S/T Maxx tires. Looks like you have 33 x 12.5. I was thinking either 285/70 = 32.7 in or 295/70 = 32.25 in. Since the stock 265/70R17 = 31.6 and I would only be increasing diameter by 1.1- 1.65 in I figured at max a 2 in lift would work. I like the KDSS and most of what I have read say no more than a 2 in lift with KDSS equipped rigs. Also figured wouldn’t need to regear. But your comment on fitting your 33s with even a 3 in lift has me worried. Also curious if you regeared. Any thoughts and advice appreciated.
@dominiccasa87993 жыл бұрын
With the 3 inch lift and 33s the rubbing only occurred during full locking turning and reverse. I wanted to have a comfortable reliable ride with zero issues. It all depends on how well you want everything to workout in the long run, rehearing is next on my to due list
