Colorado town admits high water bills are "a problem," but maintains residents use too much

After months of elected and appointed town officials saying high water bills were the result of residents using too much water, the town of Wellington is now saying there may be some cases of issues with water meter readings.

The town is obviously wrong, it's a meter problem.

The city knows exactly how much potable water leaves the treatment plant. A certain percentage can be subtracted for system-wide seepage, but even then the amount billed and the amount treated would not jive.

Our bill in Boulder was 700 dollars last month. Something is wrong. Are the new appliances using more water??? I think our efficient appliances do not work with old water meters!!!??

A sinkhole will open up if it's not a bad meter. They need to probe for sinkholes on the property and under the house.

Would be great if we stopped building golf courses who use an insane amount of water and yet we have the water restrictions??
