Cold mornings are great! I'd rather hike in the cold than the heat. Crazy story about the horse, rider, and hiker. Accidents can happen in a moments notice. I'll bet your knee is feeling better than that guys leg. Looked like a good ole fashioned yard sale with everything all spread out for drying. Walkie Talkies would be good for a trip like this to keep in touch with separated hikers in your group. I bought a pair this year but have not had a chance to use them. These long trails would be perfect for them. Taking cover in the outhouse. From one crappy situation to another! LOL. Cool to see the old rail line. Awesome! Watch out for those caterpillars! Yikes. i have never seen those before. Nice trail magic and camp for the night. Have a great day.

Walkie Talkies would have been good. We should have entered or contacted info into our Garmins but didn't think about it when in town so we could sync the info on a desktop computer. I love to see and experience he historical stuff along trails. Thanks for watching!

And the rain continues. You guys are handling it better than I would. Monsoons have been in full force for your whole hike. At least you found a good spot in the campground. And with a free hotdog! Awesome.

@@CameronHall88 Yes. It was definitely a typical Colorado monsoon season. What wasn’t typical was the overnight storms. We often had waves of thunderstorms that would go all night.

I noticed your channel for the first time a couple weeks ago with your couple days on the Ouachita Trail. (Bummer that you got injured and had to bail.). I am preparing to do a thru hike of the OT after Thanksgiving. What I really like about your vids vs those I have seen by others is that you tend to show lots of the actual trail so I can see for myself what to prepare for. I am planning on starting the CT via section hiking next summer/fall. I am following your vids because you do such a good job showing the trail. Keep up the good work - and stay healthy. Good luck!

@@briankeenan1023 Thank you and good luck on the trails. I should be going back to finish up the OT in March. At least that’s the plan.

I tip my hat to all the trail maintenance crews out there for their "never ending" hard work...

I'm really glad you were able to get some rest.... on trail. Who would have thought you would have slept better in your tent. I loved how you were able to walk on actual history with the railroad. It's not nerdness. It's awesomeness and history. We have one of those here in Plano, my hometown. Railroad history, and I love it. I actually found one of the spikes. Love it #HASHTAG
